The owner and his grandson are very nice, friendly, honest and helpful in all ways. John the owner, is very sweet and a great driver to all the sites. Superb value and close to downtown - literally within a 2 min walk! The room was private, practical, clean and comfortable. Robust shower with plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi was spotty, but that was happening pretty much all through town due to a tropical storm passing through. Breakfast is supplied and simple in nature. I would definitely stay at Hotel Atariki again.

My brother and I arrived on the Island without a reservation. Took a taxi, because we were not sure on which side of the airport we were. Taxi took us 3000 pesos, too much for the distance. You could walk to the hotel! It's less than15 minutes walking distance. We walked on the way back. Going out of the airport, turn to your left, walk till you reach a house with two moai in your right side, turn right and go down the street. The hotel is in the beginning of the third or fourth street in your right. Very easy. You have to pass the LAN office and souvenir place. And you could ask someone, people are very attentive.
We had a warm welcome by an elderly guy, Juan. He invited us, showed us the room and asked for the payment in the morning. Very friendly. The room was basic, there were no hangers in the bathroom, but I don't think it could change your holiday mood if you are not too picky! There is no breakfast! It's close to the harbor, where you could have amazing dinner! Close to the main street where you could rent a vehicle, but we didn't use their services. You could negotiate a taxi for better price as we did.
Happy with this place and would stay there on my return to the Island!
Thanks to the staff!

This hostel/hotel is new in the island (4 months). We stayed there during all our stay in Rapa Nui and we really enjoyed it.
The place is clean (not as an hotel but good enough - they clean everyday your room). All the rooms have private bathrooms with hot shower.
There is a kitchen facility available and free coffee and tea all the day.
The breakfast is good too: bread, butter, jam, ham, juice and tea/coffee.
Free wifi is also available in all the area (slow but normal for the island - fiber doesn't exist there !)
Plus it's located in the center of Hanga Roa so close to all restaurants, markets and tourism agencies.
They organise an asado (chilean barbecue) every wednesday, a good opportunity to share with people.
For the moment, this is, outside of the campings, one of the cheapest hotel in the island. Hope it will remain in the future.
Only small minus were: the manager is not there a lot during the day so sometimes frustrating if you need to ask questions. The furniture looks a little bit old but I understood that some investments will be made.
Still a very good choice anyway.

We stayed there for 4 nights and had a very Nice stay. The owners have just started the business and are improving their hotel and services (they installed the wifi when we were there and are refurnishing the rooms). Everything is not yet perfect but the rooms even if quite basic at the moment are clean. Besides they are very kind and ready to help you for everything (booking, renting,...) You really get a personnalised welcome that continues during your stay (we were offered pancakes several times even if we did not pay for the breakfast.
