We walked into the restaurant about 7:45 pm and greeted the hostess politely and asked for a table for two persons, all in Spanish. She looked into the back room, said "Si," and gestured us toward the room's entrance. We seated ourselves at the only available table which was away from the scenic side of the restaurant. We had a good view of what was going on and enjoyed the breeze. After 20 minutes, a waitress brought us menus (one of which was incomplete, lacking the meal page) and said she would be right back. She never returned. After another 25 minutes, we left and went up the pier to another restaurant that had a lower TA review but provided great service and an excellent meal. During our time at La Kaleta, we noticed the two waitresses were running all over the restaurant, both inside and out, each covering the entire place and not just a zone. They also spent most of the time bringing drinks to the very thirsty patrons. When a waitress brought a sandwich to one table, everyone at the table cheered. -- from the dirty dishes it was apparent that the rest had finished their meals already. Based on the TA reviews a a recommendation we found in a good local guidebook, we were certainly disappointed in the service.
