Thanks to all staff at the hotel for making this yet again a great holiday. Special thanks go to the ladies in the Spa and 'turn down lady' - we asked for camomile tea bags and she was so quick returning with them we didn't get a chance to say thanks in person. We have never been disappointed when staying here.

Room Tip: All rooms are good so it's swings and roundabouts depending on which view you want - pool and golf are west facing golf and sea are east facing.

Just come back from staying here for 4 nights after coming out to look at properties to buy on the site. Not impressed as we drove up the drive on a Sunday evening as it was like a ghost town with most of the houses with their shutters up. Didn't see another customer in the hotel when we checked in and feared the worst. How wrong were we. Room was beautiful and Im really fussy. Nice big bathroom with jacuzzi bath, proper large shower, his and hers sinks and sep wc. Loved the little doors you could open in the bathroom to watch the tv when you were in the bath! Small balcony with room for 2 chairs and a table.

Ate in the restaurant the first night, bit quiet, but the food and service were superb. Lovely choice at breakfast, made my husband's poached eggs to perfection. As the days went on more people arrived to play golf, obviously renting villas as hotel still lovely and peaceful. We ate in the Italian restaurant the second night, again very good. Route 66 the 3rd and the Clover Bar the last night. If we'd have been staying longer we'd have wanted to eat off site.

Beautiful outside pool, too chilly to go in. Didn't get time to look at the inside one or the Spa unfortunately. Did get to Cartegena, which was beautiful, La Manga, which is like Blackpool on a very bad day and Benidorm which was bustling and good fun.

Didn't end up buying anywhere as realized we could just as easily rent somewhere there for the Winter months and not have all the hassle of ownership. Would definitely return to this hotel off season, very good value, spotlessly clean and a 10 min drive from the small and friendly Murcia airport. Who can ask for more?

Room Tip: I'm sure they are all equally as good

Second stay at Intercontinental Mar Menor, just perfect for golf and relax and great climate. The Spa is really great... Highly recommended for an active and relaxing holiday. The hotel is close to the beaches, but recommend having a car to experience the area. The beds are really great! Breakfest is fantastic.. Cant wait to go back next winter for golf and tapas in Murcian sunshine..

Room Tip: Pool view, third floor facing golfcourse

We have stayed for a week to play golf and we are extremely disappointed. The hotel tries to have an air of grandesse, but fails completely when it comes to service. The staff is unfriendly, uninterested to the point of being rude. We tried to get some information from the woman at the front desk, but she was more interested in th papers on her desk than the guests. The pro shop was even worse! The food is ok, but not up to the standard that you would expect on an Intercontinental hotel. Our impression was that the staff did not like the guests, did not speak english and seemed to think that their job was a bore. We will never go there again!

Our room was fantastic and we experienced great service and food. Lovely surroundings and a beautiful golf course we enjoyed playing for two days. We can highly recommend this hotel :)
