“Idyllic, quiet, child friendly house amongst the olive groves and away from the tourist crowds.”
Reviewed 19 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

El Tajil is without doubt the perfect Spanish getaway for parents of young children. The kids can entertain themselves in the play cave, enjoying table tennis or table football or splash around in the pool (it's cold water so only uncovered between May and September). The parents can enjoy the most beautiful terrace overlooking the olive groves with a glass of wine in the daytime, while the hot tub in the evenings as the kids are in bed is heaven.
The surrounding villages of Algarinejo, Montefrio and Priego De Cordoba are all beautiful, authentic, interesting places to visit and all well equipped with supermarkets, banks restaurants, castles and great parks.
Sady Y and Nati are perfect hosts, both speaking English and happy to help with any questions you may have. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Liked best: The location is a little Spanish Olive Grove oasis with a great hot tub!
Liked least: Some of the kitchen crockery needs replacing, but hardly an issue.

“This place is a little haven”
Reviewed 21 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We all had a lovely relaxed holiday here at El Tajil. The house was very clean and the caretakers Nate and Baca were so nice and so sweet. Ele the owner came one day and had organised a Paella for lunch, which Baca and Nate cooked up with the help of her comi chefs!! Ele is a lovely host . Our boys really enjoyed exploring the hills around the house and of course the waterfall. It was very hot, nearly in the forties so the waterfall close to the house was dried up but we just went to the other one in the woods. A great adventure for the kids. The house has all you need in it. The only complaint is the air con, it is definitely needed in the downstairs bedroom but Ele sent us over a fan as requested. Thank you for our wonderful holiday. David and Sharon

David thank you very much for your comments.
If it is true that the downstairs bedroom did not have air conditioning, never before, we had needed. (this was the month of July-August warmest in the last 40 years). This year we will study another machine putting air conditioning in that room.
A big hug for all your lovely family.

“Very rural and very beautiful!”

The house is in a beautiful location!Very rural and traquil. The walk to the village alongside the river was beautiful. We liked the Jacuzzi!

The only difficulty was the heating with the olivepits...It was more an art I think...It would be good to have a written instruction.

But the owner helped immediately and was very kind.
And we used the wood fire.
Don't forget to eat at Casa Piolas in Algarinejo....never had a better meal...

“Beautiful holiday house, and a paradise for our small children.”

We stayed for two weeks with our two boys of one and three. The evenings were stillquite cold in January but the fire place kept us warm and added the romantic touch. We loved relaxing at night in the spa when the kids were in bed, and during the day when the sun was out our oldest loved to play in the spa with dad. The play house out the back was the favorite place to play for our boys. The owners are incredibly friendly and came straight away in case of any problems! They even cooked us a traditional paella, which was unmistakably the best paella we ever had!

“Wonderful Spanish experience”
Reviewed 10 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We rented this house with our three boys 8, 10 and 12 years of age. They loved swimming in the pool, sleeping in the hammock, and playing ping pong. Sady and Eli were lovely and very helpful with activities. They left us homemade marmalade and Eli showed us everything about the house. Eli also offered to come back if we needed anything. We really enjoyed watching the sun set over the olive groves and the atmosphere was lovely. We also enjoyed the river and water mill walk between the house and Algarinejo. Finally, the kids were thrilled there was WIFI, which worked great. Overall, it was a wonderful get away, and we felt like we really got to experience rural Spain. You should note that the roads around the house are very "twisty and turny" and my children actually felt car sick several times when we were driving from the house to other cities. The only issues were that I had told Sady what time we were coming in but Eli seemed surprised when we arrived at the house, and it was not ready for us. As a result, the hot tub was not ready (and actually never got hot - but they reimbursed us for that) and none of the beds were made. We also could not get the TV with the satellite to work (which wasn't a huge problem, as we didn't watch much TV) and to be fair, we never mentioned to Eli. Again, overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Hello family, we are very happy that happen as well in our house.
When you arrived the house was not ready at all because the previous occupants left a little later than expected and although you told us when you arrived, about 12 hours we did not give us time to get everything done, we no problems in the huespeded arrive before the check in normal within 17 h, but you must understand that may not be all set.
Anyway, is not that the beds were not made, is that we let the clean clothes on the bed so you can see that they are not used and the host's place.
We definitely had a problem with the hot tub, appeared to be broken water heater.
We would not have had any problem in showing you how to work the satellite television.
A big hug and hope to see you back again some other time.
