After a gap of many years, we went again to Ruta del Veleta. We always thought of it as a 'favourite' place to go, but it dropped off our agenda; well it's certainly back on again. We were a party of 4 celebrating a birthday. The welcome was very pleasant, and the level of service commendably high. The menu choices, although at the upper price end, were varied, and enticing. The food was beautifully prepared and presented; the wine list was varied, but with accessible options (as well as some not so accessible!). We had an excellent lunch. For a celebratory meal, or just to go somewhere with a high level of service and excellent food, we can highly recommend. A note - we were a bit alarmed at the extent to which tours to the Alhambra bring people for lunch (indeed there was a tour bus outside when we arrived) - the last thing we wanted was to be next to some large party. I assume the tours are located elsewhere, because we were in a very pleasant dining room that was fairly busy with 'normal' Spanish families, groups and couples.
