After a gap of many years, we went again to Ruta del Veleta. We always thought of it as a 'favourite' place to go, but it dropped off our agenda; well it's certainly back on again. We were a party of 4 celebrating a birthday. The welcome was very pleasant, and the level of service commendably high. The menu choices, although at the upper price end, were varied, and enticing. The food was beautifully prepared and presented; the wine list was varied, but with accessible options (as well as some not so accessible!). We had an excellent lunch. For a celebratory meal, or just to go somewhere with a high level of service and excellent food, we can highly recommend. A note - we were a bit alarmed at the extent to which tours to the Alhambra bring people for lunch (indeed there was a tour bus outside when we arrived) - the last thing we wanted was to be next to some large party. I assume the tours are located elsewhere, because we were in a very pleasant dining room that was fairly busy with 'normal' Spanish families, groups and couples.

This is a beautiful clean restaurant not far from the Alhambra. Salads excellent. Amazing garlic bread. Accommodating to my growing vegetarian habit - rice and veggies good. Try the fresh squeezed orange juice! Unbelievable. Good service.

Our cruise ship arranged a luncheon here following a shore excursion to the Alhambra. Despite being inundated with at least eighty guests, the staff speedily served everyone an excellent lunch with perhaps the best food of anywhere we ate while in Spain. Sea bass and chicken breast were the entrées after a large crudité appetizer plate with beautifully carved raw vegetables. Everything was top quality and delicious. The dining room was very handsome; we were struck by the hundreds of blue and white ceramic wine jugs hanging from the ceiling as well as the collection of old sewing machines lining the wall behind the staircase in the entryway. Our meal here was a surprisingly enjoyable experience.

Superb restaurant located in the outskirts of the city of Granada. The seafood was fresh and delicious. The shrimps were the best and the merluza(hake) gratiné incredible. This restaurant has been there for over 30 years and it just gets better
Congratulations on an excellent overall performance.

While on a shore excursion a group of us were taken to Ruta del Veleta for a sumptuous lunch! It's a well-known family-owned restaurant and a gathering place for the locals which is always a sign of excellent food and value. It's about a 15 minute drive from Alhambra and DEFINITELY worth the ride! We were treated to large trays of diverse courses - vegetables, cheeses, entrees and desserts. The servers were plentiful and efficient and the food was outstanding! The interior is a combination of dark woods, unique collections and stained glass - it feels lavish and private with a rich ambience. Guests were photographing the antiquities as well as the food! The entire experience was a feast for our senses, as well as our palate!!
