My Husband and I enjoyed his 70th B'day and our grandsons 24th B'day lunch at Secrets on the 15th July with all the family. The food was incredible and plentiful even filling four young men who are notoriously always hungry. The service was second to none. The staff went overboard to see that all our needs were filled, extremely courteous, with nothing to hard or a problem. The whole family enjoyed the experience and left feeling that they had had a fantastic afternoon. We were at the restaurant approx 4 hrs and never felt that we were being rushed out of the door. With heartfelt thanks for making this a special experience. Carol (I'm going back for my B'day)

What lovely feedback Carol! I will pass your review onto the cafe staff. They work very hard and maintain a cheerful professional approach in all states of business. We love birthday celebrations. I recall when you were all leaving and the high spirits and fun you were still having. Thanks for coming to Secrets. Kind regards from George and Aldy!

Absolutely amazing.
We discovered Secrets On The Lake by google searching "Treehouse Rainforest Hot Tub". No joke, and thats exactly what we got, and more.

We stayed in The Bower treehouse for two nights in the middle of the week.

The accommodation is beautiful and well appointed. Comfy bed, gorgeous views, fireplace, little outdoor area with a BBQ and a spa bath overlooking the rainforest and lake. Stunning.

What really sealed it was the attention to detail giving by the staff.
We were checked in promptly and rather than being given a key and a map, the friendly staff took us to our cabin, taking all our bags with them.
They showed us around our treehouse where we found the fire made and ready to be lit, soft music playing on the stereo (which will play music from your iPhone, result!), new candles, fresh scones, a bottle of wine and our wonderful hamper.

The hamper was amazing and beyond what you could reasonably expect. A couple of different cereals, lots of fruit, yoghurts, butter, jam, bread, milk, juice etc etc.

Secrets on The Lake is an amazing place to stay. Peaceful, secluded and beautiful.
Don't expect any wifi or phone service, there isn't any, but that's sort of the point, put your phone away.

We also used the canoes which was hilarious as neither of us had been near one for about 15 years.

We didn't eat in the cafe, we chose to take our own food and cook on the BBQ and gas stove.

We had one issue which we brought up with the reception staff, and someone from the maintenance team was at our cabin door within 10 minutes, couldn't ask for more.

We had a wonderful stay, and it was lovely to read the guest book and see other guests who have returned time and time again as I'm sure we will.

Thanks again.

What a wonderful review! It is guests like you that we call "gold star" as you make everything we do worthwhile. Your excitement was infectious. With regards to the wifi we are in a hole where we could be at Kakadu! However we continue to try to get a solution. But we do have it available in our reception for those who absolutely need to use it. Thanks again George and Aldy!

We recently spent some time at Secrets on the Lake, and it was wonderful. From the Check In experience to the rooms everything was very well thought out and professional. The Cabins are amazing, the workmanship and detail was as good as anywhere we've been, we spent time searching out the discreet animals and features that were carved into the wood finish. The verandah had a wonderful view with a lovely swing seat and a small BBQ. The visiting Possum and family were very special, perhaps a bit too friendly at times but welcome none the less in the bush setting which belongs to them after all.
The only negatives would be, on 2 occasions we were challenged in a rather aggressive fashion by a member of staff to question whether or not we were staying as guests as we walked through the gardens, maybe just lighten up a bit there. One thing I have never come across any where in the world, if you are able to check in an hour early, 1pm instead of 2, then you have to check out an hour early too, 10am instead of 11. Maybe this is negotiable but it's printed many times on the literature in the room and on the last day via a letter to the room.
Overall a wonderful stay and we look forward to our return. You pay a premium price for a premium product, fair enough!!

Hello 744Driver. Thankyou for all your lovely comments about our place. George and I are always pleased by the guests noticing all the special things in our cabins and at our place. As for our checking in and out policy. In general we operate at full capacity so in order for our cleaning staff to complete their work at a high level of presentation, we have a policy where we stagger check-ins and checkouts. This allows enough time. Orignally checkin was 2pm with an 11 am check-out, now we can offer an earlier option of 1pm and out at 10am. Guests understand, particularly as we will check them in earlier still if the treehouse is ready earlier. So we have a flexible system. If we are able to vary it we can extend the time but it depends on when the next check-in is scheduled. Please mention another time if you want us to consider a later checkout and where it is possible we can do it.
Thank you again for noticing all the wonderful things about Secrets. Kind regards George and Aldy!

We stayed for 2 nights in the Waterlillies cabin at Secrets to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We had seen photos of the cabins and been given rave reviews from friends but upon entering our cabin all our expectations were exceeded. The cabin was beautiful, spacious, well set-out and full of amazing woodwork and ironwork details everywhere - just perfect!! The deck area was spacious as well and we enjoyed the 'love seat' swing. I defy anyone to not relax here - you are surrounded by serenity - the views, the music, the cabin, the fireplace, the spa bath..... We found the complimentary basket to be very generous and with the hot croissants each morning breakfast was easily sorted. We loved our two nights and will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: We loved Waterlillies as it has stunning views of the lake and was very private.
