We were complete beach bums for 2 days.

Concerned about getting food as husband needs Gluten free, but shouldn't have been. The BBQ on the beach went up to the hotel to get GF rolls, it was the most amazing burger!

Staff had a lot to contend with but felt they kept up a professional and personable service.

See you next year!

Fabulous review and sums up summer! Thank you.
We can cater for all dietary requirements so perhaps consider staying with us on another visit?
Best regards

Only visited for a treatment in the spa with my mother-in-law but it was the best treatment we'd both ever had! Unfortunately it isn't much of a spa and is more of a hotel what offers treatments, so we decided not to pay the extra £30 just to use a pool with screaming kids diving into it sit on lounges around the pool which we then would've had to listen to screaming kids. The treatment itself was amazing. I definitely recommend the lava shell back and leg massage. The girls did an amazing job! The food was also very yummy, until bugs started to fall on us in the pavilion, but the staff happily moved us to another table.

Dear Ella,
Your treatment does sound amazing - so pleased you both enjoyed it so much.
The pool is much quieter now and our pools are heated year-round if you would like to come again. We have won many awards for our Spa - did you know there is also a treatment room on the beach and a new hot tub looking straight out to sea?

From the first greeting we received from Kelly in reception we knew we were in for a treat
The staff were all incredibly helpful and polite, the food was outstanding with a great menu choice including specials of the day, cooked and presented superbly
We upgraded to an apartment very spacious and clean although could do with a little TLC
The hotel is set right on Carbis Bay which is truly beautiful a lovely part of Cornwall

I booked a night at Carbis Bay Hotel as a treat for my mum. The hotel is beautiful and very well kept. We arrived earlier than the allowed check in time, our room wasn't ready but one of the reception staff took my mobile number and called as soon as a room was ready.

I was surprised that the hotel did not have a lift to the upper floors, although my mum can walk she does have difficulty with a lot of stairs, it would be helpful if this is clearly noted on the website. Also we were unable to use the spa/pool as there were no handrails down the main steps of the pool, the hot tub or to the spa itself. Installing of some handrails in this area I'm sure would be appreciated by older customers and/or those with a slight walking disability.

We are at the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the service on all occasions was good and the food was lovely.

Overall a good stay.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your visit with your Mum and pleased you both enjoyed our restaurant. If you come again, do try our Beach Club Restaurant down on the beach or our lovely new Gannet Inn, also in Carbis Bay. We offer dining packages which include all 3. We do have some rooms and apartments with easier access and appreciate your comments.

The Carbis Bay Hotel has many excellent features. The restaurant consistently produces very good food. It is located on the edge of a massive beach of white sand, with the waves beyond. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful and care about their guests and their hotel. There is a station on the coastal railway nearby, to take you into St Ives (a big plus if you want to go there - parking is very difficult). A small oudoor pool, but well heated. But.... this is a nineteenth century hotel, and it has been renovated to keep it that way. So, no lifts. Dim lighting in the rooms. Small rooms (after five nights here, our next stop was a Premier Inn, and we were really struck by the larger room there!). In general, the lack of the modern features and feel you would expect in, say a Hilton (or a Premier Inn!), got to be wearing after a while. And no gym. So only 4 out of 5.

Room Tip: Coastal railway runs close behind - check room quiet enough. No lift, so be prepared to carry stuff up stairs, unless ground floor.

We appreciate your comments on our location, staff and restaurant - thank you. Our Hotel does have a fascinating history and tradition which we are proud to maintain, whilst at the same time offering today's visitor a luxurious experience. We offer a wide choice of accommodation from large, deluxe seaview rooms to apartment suites, chic cottages and beachside houses. We have plans for a gym in the not too distant future; meanwhile we hope you enjoyed our year-round outdoor heated pools and direct access to our own beach.
