Description: Il Calandrino is a casual version of Le Calandre, the Alajmo brothers three Michelin star restaurant. It is located directly in front of Le Calandre and serves excellent modern Italian food. Great wine and cocktails as well. And in the back corner of Il Calandrino, there is a small pastry shop selling delicious cakes, cookies and small pastries.

I had dinner in this restaurant next to its brother "Calandre" and the food was very tasty. Service is friendly and quite fast yet one feels at ease while dining. Great selection of Italian wines by the glass (I enjoyed a good Vapolicella). All in all a great culinary experience if you are in the area.

Not michelin-starred, not cheap, but good. Have cicchetti for aperitivo; very good pricing. Enjoy it!

My husband and I just celebrated our wedding anniversary at the restaurant and it was one of the most memorable meals we had. Having a husband as a Chef makes dining out a bit complicated as we always try to visit restaurants that serve innovative food and provide intuitive service. We were not disappointed!

I started with the beef carpaccio that tasted like it was brined and possibly cooked sous vide with a tarragon cream sauce and pickled carrots. I'm used to eating beef carpaccio that is thinly sliced but the Chef sliced it almost 'chunky' and it had such an amazing texture and the flavour was out of this world!

Hubby had the seafood ravioli with spring vegetables and each bite was just perfect. Fresh seafood and spring peas & beans made the dish so delightful to eat.

The roasted suckling pig was served with Amatriana sauce, potato foam and black vegetable ash. The skin was crisp and the flavours/texture combined were amazing!

We reserved online from their website and they actually took note of our requests to be seated away from the door and bathroom and even prepared a surprise dessert combination of their must-try tiramisu petite fours and ricotta and coconut connolo with a rich dark chocolate sauce.

The sommelier suggested 2 excellent white wines by the glass for my husband and he was very knowledgeable about all the food items and knew exactly which combinations work together.

Service was friendly, professional and welcoming. We only wished that we lived closer so we could go back more frequently!

Dinner for 2 came to about 165€ for 2 courses each plus 2 glasses of wine, dessert to share, coffee & tea. It was well worth every penny! Looking forward to our next visit and possibly trying the 3* Le Calendre as well!
