We loved this traditional little cottage. I totally chilled out sitting with the wood burning stove just feet from the sea. We'll be back.
This is a lovely cottage which has obviously undergone considerable modernisation from what would have been a pretty basic fisherman's home.
It is spotless and well equipped. The views are amazing, especially the sunsets. We were fortunate to have lovely weather which allowed us to explore the village and do the local walks. The Gardenstown people are among the friendliest we've ever come across.
we had a wonderful time in this lovely cottage fully equipped . loved sitting in the living room looking at the sea and tides, observing the birds. Clean, pretty decoration, wi-fi is working very well which is appreciated (one last tiny little thing: may I suggest to provide an hairdryer?)
We had a very relaxing and peaceful stay at Gannet Cottage this Easter, The cottage is warm and cosy and kept those chilly northerly winds at bay! The views from all of the windows are amazing and always changing. The cottage is very well equiped. We loved the blue-tooth sound system and played music from our phones and lap top through it. The binoculars were also really useful to see what the children were getting up to playing in the rock pools!
There isn't that much to do in the area and sadly lacking in walking - the stunning coast would be a brilliant location for a path, However, we enjoyed visiting Duff House, the Port Soy ice cream shop (twice!), Fyvie Castle, MacDuff Marine Aquarium and Troup Head. Hell's Lum at Cullykahn Bay (which is a lovely beach in itself), just 10 mins away, is off the beaten track and worth a visit. The sea has cut through the hillside and sometimes blows sea spray out of it when conditions are right. It wasn't doing it on our visit which allowed us to go inside.
Brian had made us very welcome - the key was easy to find, beds comfy and the bread and milk very welcome. All in all, a very enjoyable stay! Thank you.
Gannet cottage is perfect; small and cozy, it's very well equipped and the location couldn't be better. Gardenstown is a lovely small village with nothing much going on, but that's just perfect.
