The location of this large capacity house is very good for travel around Banffshire. There are not a lot of shops in Gardenstown anymore, but it's pretty easy to get to nearby towns with more options. There had been a landslip (landslide) so access to the harbor was limited during our short stay. The walk to the water is steep. The house has a book with important info renters should read, as it explains the unusual heating system. There was no soap in the bathrooms or facecloths in the linens, but we are used to American style rentals where those are always included. The refrigerator is small, so we were glad we did not bring a lot of perishable groceries. The views from the front of the house are spectacular. We enjoyed our short stay and would stay again. There is a small charge for extra linens if you need to use the sofa bed in the living room.
