I was here as part of a conference so my accommodation had been booked by my company. However, even though I had called and confirmed accommodation arrangements for my colleagues and I, on arrival there was no such record. I apparently didn't exist. This was promptly sorted but my villa (sharing with another colleague) was not ready. I went and had a bite to eat returning 30 minutes later, and had to go through the whole explanation again. For some reason the data base didn't hold the changes that had been sorted. One and a half hours later and after a third go at trying to "exist" i was finally given a room.
Apart for this diabolical check in experience, all the staff were very friendly and hospitable; nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast was included in Redsalt and you couldn't fault it. Anything you could possibly want and great quality. The ladies on the coffee counter were fantastic and did a great job in keeping up with demand.
The pool looked great even though I didn't get to use it. The gym was small but managed to offer enough equipment for a quick work out.
Our villa was a little tired but certainly spacious and my bed was great! Very comfortable night's sleep. We managed to have two great meals out ( one at EXP. restaurant; the other at Muse Kitchen) and would highly recommend both.
I'd definitely stay here again...

Even after many annual visits to the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley it still retains its high standard of staff and facilities.
It is an ideal place to bring children as there is so much for them to do.
The staff are most friendly and attentive.
The Redsalt restaurant is a bit pricey and the less said about the Lovedale the better.
It could be so good if managed properly.

Highly recommended resort for your holiday in Hunter Valley. Conveniently located in the heart of Hunter Valley such as walking distance to the Hunter Valley Tourist Information Centre, less than 10 minutes drive to Cessnock town centre. We caught the Hunter Valley iHop bus at the Visitor Information Centre. Hunter Valley iHop bus service is the hop on/hop off service, a convenient way to the spend your wine tasting day at many of the popular wineries.

I visited this resort with my son for two nights.
We had a two bedroom villa which was fabulous.
The spa was great. Facial very relaxing.
Needs to have another breakfast option instead of buffet as just felt like toast and the cost of buffet was pricey.

Our family(2A2C) stayed in a spacious 2 br villa (unserviced rate, rubbish cleared each day) in the "south village" for 3 weeknights during the hols. Easily an average walk of about 5 -10 mins walk to facilities/hotel main entrance. We requested for one on the ground floor (to avoid the stairs), overlooking the lake which was lovely although might not be ideal for families with very young kids/toddlers. We kept an eye on ours from our private outdoor setting which worked out fine.

Had breakfast (included in rates) at Redsalt restaurant and staff there were always friendly and pleasant such as Jo and Leon. Leon comforted our little girl successfully when she got a bit upset over a cut on her finger. A great and dedicated team from what i can see. We wanted to extend our stay but commitments back home prevented us from doing so. Here's my overall opinion of the resort 's facilities/amenities used while we were there:

Our resort villa: 2br villas are either on the ground or first floor (accessible via stairs, no lifts), unsure about the 3 br and resort rooms & suites. One br had a king size bed and the 2nd br had 2 dbl beds with a desk and TV in each. comfortable beds, did not come across a pillow menu. a laptop sized safe is provided.

kitchen: almost a full kitchen (no oven). we cooked a meal one evening with no problems at all, table mats would have been great to have. villa dining menu is available. if u wish to have a bbq outside your villa, equipment and utensils can be hired at a rate of $50, cleaning all taken care of!

lounge: standard tv channels with paid movies etc . plenty of space for us 4.

wifi: excellent connection, free if you are an ihg member

bathroom: shower over bath in one bathroom and a rainshower in the other. basics all provided. excellent water pressure and temperature. bath plug was broken and staff from maintenance came within a reasonable time frame to fix it.

laundry facilities: Not available in villa but in each "village" (north, east, south villages). $8 (washing powder included). Laundry basket provided in each villa.

parking: free, just outside our villa, non-allocated, might be a problem if you have more than one car especially if the resort is full.

kids/youth facilities:

*train rides, carousel, at scheduled timing (gold coin donations), kids club (either morning or afternoon session-3 hrs max, $15). Our 5 year old enjoyed the kids club so much that she wanted to go again!
*teen lounge - playstations can be borrowed from concierge, access to the lounge via the resort card)
* movies catering to different age grp (6pm for younger grp; 8.30pm for older grp), beanbags provided, beverages and snacks available for purchase

other facilities: excellent tennis/basketball courts, croquet, bocce courts, table tennis, (all equipment are provided from concierge), outdoor chess sets, bikes catering to all ages (Don't forget to bring your helmets). Tea tree spa centre was great, enjoyed the massage), 24 hr gym (husband loved it! -it must be good since he gets up early to go!) shower room and towels available, jacuzzi/spa, swimming pool (not heated on enquiry) and the list goes on.

redsalt restaurant (from6.30am for breakfast): full buffet breakfast $33, continental;$25 (i think), kids $15 (not worth the $ if your kids are fussy eaters). Great breakfast choices eg. an egg station, juice bar (create your own), barista coffee. I recommend trying it once during your stay. I had eggs benedict with salmon and they were yum. Gets packed from 8.30am-9am with a q.

Overall, a great and wonderful resort that cater to each individual's needs (from the young to old). You can either choose to do something or nothing. All within 10 minutes drive to local wineries, hunter valley garden, coles etc. Probably gets really crowded on weekends and school holidays. Bear in mind that the villas are in separate areas from main reception/building etc, so if it rains, might be tricky to get to the restaurants, leisure centre etc.

Will we stay again? Absolutely!
Will we recommend to others? Without a doubt!

Room Tip: villas are separated from the main building, request one that suits you most (near amenities/lake vie...
