Wonderful place, and Victoria was extremely helpful. Upon our arrival, she met us at Hotel Sotres, and led us up to the casa. It's advisable to pay close attention to the route when you go there the first time, as we had a bit of trouble finding it again the 2nd time, but from then on it became routine.
We very much enjoyed having breakfast out at the picnic table beside the house, taking in the glorious view and drinking coffee made in the supplied moka-style espresso maker (a new experience for us, and we're about to buy one of our own!). The house was fully appointed with virtually anything the traveler might need, including literature on nearby activities. For some reason, the beds did not have top sheets at all, just fitted sheets and a comforter. Top sheets, being the norm in our experience, would have been welcome, but the bed was very comfortable, and we slept fine.
The casa was in easy walking distance from everytihng in town, and a great base for exploring the area. We did hikes from Bulnes, the Vegas de Sotres, and the Garganta del Cares while staying here. The drive out to Treviso was gorgeous, with wild horses and cattle all over. The roads in and out of town, as well as those in the village itself, are extremely narrow and require care and caution, but that's the norm in this area, and part of the adventure!
Bisco, the dog who lives next door, became my best buddy. He was very affectionate and loving without being pushy, and we were always glad to see him lying in his little corner out by the road upon our return.
The only problem we had at all was with the washing machine, which was utterly unlike anything from the U.S. and did not work in the manner described; we simply couldn't get it to ever go into the rinse cycle at all. We ended up doing our laundry in the sink and hanging it out to dry with the supplied clothes rack. A downloaded user manual would be enormously helpful.
Highly recommended. A true highlight of our vacation.

Even though we arrived very late because of problems with our flight, Victoria and Carlos waited for us and made us very welcome. The house is lovely, with everything you need for a comfotable holiday, the sun pours in throughout the day. The views surrounding the house are amazing.
Sotres is great location from which to explore the area. The village itself is very nice with lots of bars and a places to eat. There is a bar/shop just down the road from the house that sells some provisions and wonderful handmade hats and socks! The Gorges de Cares is only 20mins down the road, as is the furnaccular to Bulnes which is well worth visiting. There are walks from the house that are truly stunning. The village of Treviso, further up the mountain, is great too. It is a traditional mountain village with stunning walks from there also. We visited Potes but felt it was a long drive for somewhere that has possibly lost some of it's charm due to tourism. We were so glad we stayed in Sotres and not in Potes, which was where we had been trying to book originally. It's an amazing area that we would love to visit again. It made things much easier that Victoria spoke very good English and she was very quick always to reply to emails.
Lovely small home, with mountain views, in a pleasant village, and well-appointed. Plenty of kitchenware, so cooking is easy, and within easy reach by car of the trail to Aliva and the Cares Gorge. Victoria, the owner, speaks good English and was very helpful.
