Perfectly located if you want to be in the middle of it all. Right across from dot base you can literally be skiing on the slopes in a few minutes or if you are really really lazy you can get the shuttle to drop you off 100 m up the hill. The rooms although small are very highly appointed with the best trimmings and you will love the super comfy bed and lush pillows after a hard day skiing. Best of all the brekkie is superb and will keep you going all day on the slopes. Coupled with free laundry facilities super helpful and friendly staff this is one of the best ski hotels you can stay at.

Small boutique hotel. Felt "homey" since it's not a big resort hotel. Slightly better than the typical Japanese hotel but somewhat still give me the 'cramped' feel that most Japanese hotel are famous for.

Breakfast - although there aren't tonnes of choices, it is surprisingly good. But the staff doesn't seems to like clearing your plate immediately but rather wait until you've finished your meal before they clear everything at one go.

Hirafuzaka restaurant was great since they don't accept reservation - so you pretty much know where you can eat at night if you don't have reservation.

Location wise - it's 50/50... it's great since it's 3/4 up the hill (so it's close to the welcome centre and ski slope), fun to walk down to check-out nearby places... but when you're done (with heavy dinner), and need to walk up the slope... ahem ahem... it's a long walk to digest your dinner :-)

The service was great-there is absolutely nothing to complain about!
They picked us up from the welcome center to take us to the hotel which was only 250 m away but we didn't want to walk in the snow with our luggage.
Ski rental was in a shop on the ground floor. The equipment I had reserved online was waiting for us. On the day of arrival, we we got fitted in the afternoon. They put the gear in our own locker so that we would be all ready go the next day.
The next morning, the shuttle van took us from the hotel to the base of Hirafu (a 1 min. ride). Driver unloaded gear for us.
The breakfast that was included was excellent- lots of choices of Japanese and Western food. There was a ramen station too!
The room was modern and clean. Bathing area quiet and sooooo nice after a day of skiing.
After checking out, we took the complimentary shuttle to Kutchan to take the train to Sapporo. I was coughing on the way there. The driver noticed and gave me a really good Japanese cough candy after we got out of the van. That's good service!!

Room tip: Get a room facing Mt. Yotai.

My friend and I visited Hirafuzaka after skiing, and it was the best dinner we've ever had in Niseko. The restaurant is easily accessible to Grand Hirafu's dot base, and the ambiance is very relaxing. Ami and Alex served us with great hospitality and even gave us food recommendations which was just in our taste. We had Ochazuke and Gyudon along with Kara-age(Japanese Fried Chicken). Glasses of Yuzu-cocktail made our dinner even more cheerful--it was the best cocktail ever! Cheap price compared to other pricey restaurants in Niseko. Best dining place to enjoy authentic Japanese food after enjoying skiing!

Chalet Ivy was nice and to our liking.

We went to Niseko for only 2 days so we did not have much time.

We took the JR from Sapporo to Kutchan and Chalet Ivy provided free transport from JR Kutchan.

Our room was 529 the deluxe onsen suite. As we have arrived early, we went for our snow mobile ride at Hanazono.

Chalet Ivy was very convenient because there was a free shuttle bus (Pick-up point Upper Village J) right in front to bring us to Hanazono and Hirafu Gondola Station (Pick-up point H).

Chalet Ivy also offered us an option for their private onsen 45mins for 2000yen.

Our room was spacious and the Hirafu Mountain View was pretty. The price was a bit steep but since it was peak season so it was acceptable.

Chalet Ivy is situated along the main street so it is a short walk to many restaurants and bars.

The breakfast was nice and there were many options.

On our way back, Chalet Ivy sent us back to JR Kutchan.

Pls be careful as the icy grounds can be very slippery.
