“Great Hotel and Great Location”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

Stayed at this hotel last week and would not go to any other hotel in Andorra ater this. Location was great, right on the slopes and right next to the gondola. Never had to walk more than five steps to get to ski. Hotel room was good, clean and had good noise insulation so a good night sleep alround. The food was a good variety but as always half board was slightly cold. Staff were very helpful particularly the english receptionist who was a credit to the hotel. Room was cleaned well every day, internet in the whole hotel and free which is always a good selling point even though it did not mention this when i booked. all in all i will be returning later in the year. The location is very quiet and ideal for families as no drunken yobs walking back drunk at 2 in the morning. The bus into Andorra La Vella is three euros per person and goes every 15 minutes and takes about 20 minutes journey so shopping is easy for holiday gifts. We went every night to either Pas or La Vella. Drinks are as reasonable as a hotel drink can be and the swimming pool is free. All in all it was about £250 per person more than my last Andorra Hotel but i would pay it again.

This a very good Hotel for a ski holiday.

Pros.
Location, You go out from the hotel right on the slopes (blue ones) and you come back same way. Real ski-in, ski-out.

Rooms, Good clean rooms.

Food, Good food generally , helpfull staff in the Dinning room.

Staff, Generally helpfull (see below)

Cons.

Please don't put No-English Speakers on Reception. It was very annoying when I got explanation about using safe in my room (3 euro per day - expensive!) from non-speaking english woman on reception and she got angry that we didn't understand her. She said she speaks spanish and catalonian which was not helpfull for us.

Wifi - Free wifi but doesn't work when needed about 70% of the time.

Nowhere to go surround the hotel.

Room Tip: Our room had no view to the slopes but it was ok

Stayed at the Nordic 19-26th Feb 2012 and loved it! Great Hotel, really clean, loads of nice food and huge choice, really friendly staff on the whole (and loads of them) and perfect location for skiing. One slight grumble : people can still smoke indoors in public places in Andorra and because we are not used to that anymore in Britain, it is a bit off putting. But to be fair it never really got dead smokey in the hotel.
Facilities are great and the drinks are really reasonable at the bar.

Great ski area here and the chairlift to the main ski area (ski school etc) is right outside the hotel. Snow was great when we were there and we had bright sunshine every day, perfect!(snow was a bit patchy on really sunny slopes by the last day). The mountain cafe's are cheap to eat and drink in and the food is very good. First couple of days were really busy, as it was the Spanish half term (2 hr wait for ski equipment at hire shop!!!) but it quietened right down by the Wednesday.
Village is very quiet, so don't go if you want nightlife etc.

Will definately be returning to the Nordic in the future.

Location for skiing is fantastic as we never carried our skis further than 20 yards all week !!! Food was buffet style and varied enough to find something to eat (managed to put on 4 pounds in a week. The service is almost too fast at times as they clear up the plates as soon as the forks go down. Rooms were decent size. Only downside is that El Tarter is not the place for apres ski

Superb hotel in an excellent location. Right at the El Tarter ski lift. So convenient. Ski hire shop adjoining the hotel next to the lockers(free to use for hotel guests). Hotel reception arranged the lift passes. Very helpfull staff throughout. Not a lot to do for non-skiiers.Awesome views out of the hotel.Breakfast plentiful and a wide variety. Evening meal again plentiful and wide variety. Restaurant in the evening does not open til 19.30. Rooms were big enough for the three of us, myself, husband and 7 year old son. Nice bathroom. Very clean. Smoke was not an issue for us. Perhaps not many smokers the week we stayed!!
Evening entertainment was good. Excellent magician one evening. Games room good - bowling alley, table football and pool tables and a bar!! Drinks throughout the hotel are not expensive 7 euros for a bottle of wine, 3 euros for a large beer.
Swimming pool and sauna and steam room. I did not use but my husband and son did and enjoyed it. The slopes are superb, not busy and very wide. Skiing area is extensive. no big queues at the lifts - unlike the Alps. Would definitely stay again. Loved it.

Room Tip: It is worth paying extra for the views of the ski slopes
