We were there in 2009, so our opinion might not be very helpful today. However, I would like to share our experience in Fadhila Cottages.
We were there in July 2009. About 8 tourists got there at the same time without a booking and there were not enough rooms for everyone. Therefore, 4 of us had to stay in areas that were not set up as bedrooms (the normal ones are bungalows that looked quite nice and that were not very expensive). We only had a mattress on the floor and a mosquito net. We had a little discount for that. It was difficult to go to another island to find another place to stay because it was late and the distances were big.
We managed to sleep well but we heard something flying around the room a few times (maybe a bat?).
Despite being basic, we had a great time and we could go for a boat ride to snorkel in beautiful waters. They also took us to watch coconut crabs in the middle of the night (very touristic activity but very impressive). The staff was very nice and the food (all three meals were included in the price) was quite okay for Indonesian standards.
At the time, Fadhila Cottages was good value for your money.More
