This is the almost ideal choice for experienced travellers willing to accept isolation, lack of non-water sports activities, limited water and electricity for an inexpensive vacation in a friendly environment.

Snorkelling and diving are out of this world with a vast area of reefs and even an WW2 airplane wreck to explore. This is the highlight of this place.

Staff in this hotel are friendly and accessible. Kids are friendly as are the adults working in the place. Fellow travelers are a delight. You have to tend to extroversion to make the most of this place.

A bit of heavy sales on the part of one of the staff (not directly employed by the establishment though) for diving expeditions does not detract. On the whole one is not relegated to 2nd class status just because one is not a diver.

Rooms are cleaned every 2nd day. Bathrooms have very low water pressure for the showers. Deluxe is 300K, economy rooms are 200K PER PERSON. Children less. Everything is explained on the website. You can store vital items in the kitchen fridges - be aware that there is no electricity to run these fridges during the day.

Full board is practially only fish and vegetables & rice twice a day. Breakfast is fruit and fried egg. The hot food is cooked in coconut oil - this i an aquired taste. Some like it, some not. Coffee and Tea are free and self-service.

Please note: There is no internet nor mobile phone connection. You are in effect competely off the communication grade while you are staying here.

Don't worry about transport to and from Wakai. This can be arranged in advance for pick-up and return trip or by public transport via Ketupat. Ketupat is the name of the village across the straits from the hotel.

Enjoy!

Room Tip: Newer room types.

Lovely bounty-island with great staff and good food!
This was the second island on the togeans for us (first was Poya Lisa, also lovely)!
We were very happy with the (newer) bungalow, IDR 600.000 for 2, incl meals.
The beach was great, you could be social or isolated. The restaurant is on the point if the island with great sunset on the jetty, and always cool because of the wind.
We had a birthday girl and the staff helped us arranging a local drum-band and a Bday cake!! It was so nice!
You can use a canoe to go around the island, or swim around (3hours!!). Snorkling is great!

We also made some dives, the (local) dive guides were great and helpfull.
The only bad thing on the island is the dive-instructor Steve. He is narsistic and tries to get as much money out of you as possible. If you don't want to do a review course (because you've been diving for 17years, he calls you a studip diver...!) He made beginning divers insecure and was manipulating! A pitty on such a lovely place, so good that you can't hear him speak if you're underwater!

So just ignore him, enjoy the beautifull island with the lovely staff and the good food!

this is paradise island. really beautifull white beach, volleybal field, palm trees for shadows, great staff, excellent food. me and my girlfriend stayed in the new bungalow, view over white beach. very nice bungalow, hammok, musquitonet, nice balcony and fresh water system. i would recommend it for everyone.only points are bats in the room, two bungalows under one roof ( so don't make any noise at night), and dive instructor steven.

Thank Dirk v

The cottages are not as clean as others say (especially the bath). The food is good.
I went there for diving, and the dive master was very annoying. He did not want to make three dives a day and did not go to the most interesting dive sites because he did not want to go on longer boat trips.
And once they rented the diving equipment to some else, although I was on the dive board for diving, so I had no equipment and could not go diving.
Very unprofessional. If you want to go diving on the Togean Islands search for another dive resort.

The cottages are ok (bathrooms are not that clean), the food was very good and diversified, very friendly staff and there is a beautiful, quiet beach and also canoes you can rent for free.

Unfortunately the dive instructor - and old french guy called Steven - is really bad. He only gets paid if he sells diving courses to the tourists and doesn't get any money for "fun dives". So everyone who gets to Fadhila and has no dives in his logbook for the last six month has to to a refresh-course for 45 euros. No matter how many dives you had before and how experienced you are! We saw a lot of gets leaving the resort because of him. Also he wouldn't take me to the bomber-wreck that lies on 22 meters below - even though I'm allowed to go up to 30 meters, he wanted me to do a deep dive course for 220 euros before i could go to the wreck.

When seven of the guests who were staying at the cottages at that time wanted to go to Una Una for diving (it's an offer on the hotel's pricelist) he just said no because he's obviously too lazy to do the long trip by boat. All together a very disappointing diving experience. We spent a lot of time and money to get to the Togean Islands and could hardly do any dives.

If you just want to relax, it's a really nice place and hopefully Steven won't be around for too long as
they are going to open a more professional dive center next year with some other dive masters. Still, diving in Bunaken is much more beautiful!!
