“Wonderful Lodge, Wonderful Weekend!!”
Reviewed 10 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We recently stayed at the birdsong for a long weekend and we loved every second. After arriving later than expected we were greeted by Fiona who gave us the key and talked us through a few things she had left us some eggs, milk, biscuits for us and biscuits for our little boy which was just so lovely. We arrived on a particularly cold evening and the heating had been put on in advance which was appreciated.
We loved the look of the lodge it is very modernly decorated and I would say to a high standard and it had everything we needed and plenty of space.
We had a busy weekend visiting family so didn't get use the lodge too much but it does have a fully functioning kitchen which would prove useful, I also must mention the bed it was the most comfortable bed I've slept on in a long time we slept great.
Fiona was great helping us out with every question or anything we needed we would defiantly stay again and hopefully soon!

“Amazing!”
Reviewed 26 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Went for a little mid week break and Birdsong Lodge couldn't have been more perfect.
The lodge is located near to the beautiful unspoilt coast (short walk), local shop and short drive to the local pib/restaurant. The lodge has everything you could need and more and Fiona our host could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We didn't bring our 4 legged friend this time but when we return he will be going with :)

“A relaxing break in a wonderful cottage”

Great location, well appointed cottage that was perfect for a short break. We were made to feel very welcome with little treats for us and the dog! To fellow visitors I would highly recommend a beach walk to the Ship Inn at Lower Newton, Turnbull's butchers in Alnwick for steak (thanks Fiona for the tip!) and an afternoon in Barter's Books in Alnwick (great scones). We can't wait to return.

“Great holiday rental”

We had an amazing time in Northumberland and loved staying in Birdsong Lodge. It's a very comfortable and well appointed holiday home. It's beautifully furnished and well positioned for visiting all the castles and stunning beaches. Fiona made us feel very welcome and we appreciated all the added extras such as wine, bread, eggs, biscuits and homemade cake! We enjoyed walking along the coast to Dunstanburgh Castle and then popped into the Jolly Fisherman for lunch, which was superb. The Treehouse Restaurant in Alnwick was a great experience too. We made the most of Fiona's home cooked meal menu and ordered a beef stew for our first evening, which was delicious! We loved Northumberland and would like to go back. We highly recommend Birdsong Lodge.
