We, 3 families of 4 each, went for a much-needed getaway and to spend the new year vacation to Faraway Renz located beyond Jim Corbett off Ramnagar – Ranikhet highway nested in the woods for 5 days. We found the property through a mutual contact and got in touch with Ms. Sangeeta who was extremely helpful and addressed all our concerns regarding travel and stay arrangements. We started at 5 in the morning and reached around 4 PM after stopping for both breakfast & lunch. The roads were smooth all along and only got a little rough towards the end. There were plenty of signs that led us to our destination in the hills. One of the owner Mr. Rishi was there to receive us with his brother. The real love started when we moved towards the rooms as we were still a little apprehensive about the whole place, but the rooms were a real surprise as all the 6 rooms were clean, spacious and had all the necessary things in place for our stay with direct view of the mountain peaks. We were all mesmerized by the location of the homestay, the view was just breathtaking. We are a group of foodies who love to both cook and eat good food and so, were a little apprehensive about the food. But the cook Jaswant is absolutely amazing. To our surprise, every dish that he made was so yummy that we always had our stomachs full but not our hearts. Our children became a fan of his cooking especially the French fries which we had almost every day, and the Pahadi Mutton was to die for.

The place is well equipped with games like Table Tennis, Carrom, Cricket, board games and so many other games to keep everyone engaged.
One of the highlights of the place was the moonrise, which believe me, we had never seen before anywhere, it was the real beauty of the nature. The sky was clear for most of the days and full of stars where we sat for 2 days in a row to see the different constellations and to our surprise we could see “satellites moving” without any telescopes(never thought of that).
Overall, it was a memorable holiday for all of us and we came back happy and refreshed, we will definitely want to visit the place soon again.
