Room: picked a Japanese style tatami room. It's spacious and tidy, yet all the furniture and equipment are very old, and the ceiling light in living room kept switching off automatically. Washroom is very small as if they don't expect customers to bath in room. The only thing I couldn't accept was I found a big cockroach right before I went to bed...!
Food: in-room Japanese dinner was pretty good (should be better than buffet dinner). Buffet breakfast had all the basic choices. , but my wife didn't like it as she doesn't like Jap breakfast (e.g. rice, miso soup, pickles).
Onsen (hot spring): indoor onsen was spacious yet old. Outdoor onsen is small and not connected to the indoor one so guests have to go separately. Don't suggest trying the outdoor one in spring/summer as there were lots of mosquitos...
Service: not bad
Location: at the center of Kirishima onsen area so this is truly for visitors who want to do hot spring. Free parking for hotel guests and there are lots of parking lots.
Conclusion: being a hot spring hotel, it's not too expensive. But personally I prefer either a newer hotel or a more authentic and luxurious one.More
