We took ageing parents for an evening meal here last August. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food - which included a vegetarian meal - was first class. There was an excellent selection of real ales available as well. The pub, which is family run, has a deserved citation from CAMRA. All in all a most enjoyable evening out.

If you want a classic British pub with good food and proper beers with splendid no nonsense service... this is your pub. I would call this a “drinkers pub”... if you want a younger clientele with music pumping go elsewhere and there are plenty in Billericay... recommended

My dad took me here for lunch, the foods Is very nice and fresh. It's not somewhere I would of though of going myself but was pleasantly surprised, it's a typical old fashioned pub but is clean big and inviting.
