Stayed 2 nights as part of your group for visit on Sado.

Facility is old and worn out. Hallway carpets and room wallpaper have stains. Minimal convenience on facility. Small gift shop. Restaurant on 7th floor for all meals. Breakfast is very crowded as hotel caters to tour business. There are 5 other groups staying at same time. Only western food was croissant, white bread and wieners.

Definitely past its prime.

What an incredible place to visit. The Onsen (Japanese bath) is very warm and contains minerals that made my skin feel great. The outdoor bath was particularly nice early in the morning when the birds were singing and the steam was rising off the water. The suite was incredible. WE had a wonderful time. The futons were very comfortable, the baths very nice. The view from our suite was incredible - but it was eclipsed by the gorgeous view from the restaurant at the top of the hotel. Simply amazing. Want a get away into another place - this is it. Not inexpensive, but certainly worth the trip.

Room tip: The suites are amazing.

This one of the newer and more substantial hotels on Sado. It is quite touristic and hardly intimate but they know their business and we passed a pleasant night. The room was comfortable, clean and spaceous (here you are served your evening meal in your room). The set course meals were tasty but no better than the cheaper Azuma Hotel. The hotel is set in substantial grounds away from the road, so the place was quiet at night. There was a performance of traditional dances in the foyer the night we stayed, which was a nice (free) addition.
