It was a lovely well equipped cottage. Our boys 10 and 14 had great fun playing with the Lego. The area is fantastic, lots to do and great walks. We went there to see the area after I read Ring of Bright Water many many years ago. We are thinking of going back in the summer.
After many years I've finally made it to Glenelg - what took so long? As you turn off the busy main road leading to Skye at Shiel Bridge, a sense of calm descends; winding up and then down the single track road that leads to Glenelg you arrive in the village ready to relax. And the Old Post Office is perfect for that. Start your day with breakfast overlooking the sea; head out for any number of excellent local walks; and then in the evening sit by the fire, or wander next door to enjoy the excellent food and hospitality at the Glenelg Inn. With some superb weather we explored the area by car but mainly on foot, and spent many hours in the various local viewpoints enjoying the stunning views across to Skye, and south to Knoydart and the Small Isles. It was always a pleasure to return to the cottage; leaving it after our week was up was a struggle!
We had an excellent week enjoying the stunning scenery and fine walking in the Western Highlands. The cottage is comfortable and well-appointed with a great view.
