Can't add much to the one liner above! Family run hotel, nice friendly staff, good food and a super breakfast, nice views too.

We took the 80-mile train journey to Kyle from Inverness. It is one of the most beautiful train trips we have ever taken. There are only 2 or 3 hotels in Kyle and lots of B&Bs so rooms in the area are not cheap. Still, we feel we got our money's worth at Tingle Creek.
I e-mailed the hotel directly and I found replies slow, probably due to a rather remote location. However, I did get a confirmation.
We chose the room & dinner option since we did not have a car and the hotel is 3 miles from Kyle. This was a good choice.
When our train arrived in Kyle, we phoned the hotel and we were pciked up in a manner of minutes - a free service.
We had not had lunch and the manager offered to make us a couple of sandwiches and we enjoyed them in the lounge with a beverage - very pleasant.
Dinner reservations are staggered and the dining room gradually filled in the evening. The large windows look out towards Skye, making this a wonderful place to enjoy a meal (thought the sunset was obscured by clouds that evening). We both enjoyed wonderful Angus Beef steaks, among the best we had on our tour.
That evening, the manager informed us that an error had occurred and they had booked our room on the system for 1 night instead of 2, even though it showed 2 days on their paperwork. . The hotel was full the next day due to a tour. He offered to transport us a few miles to a hotel in Plockton the next day. We had a tour booked and paid for in Kyle the next day so he said he could take us to town and pick us up after out tour, then take us to Plockton. It was upsetting since we liked the place, but he did the best he could so we agreed.
The next day when we reached the spot for the tour, we were informed that the tour would not be operating. We got our money back but were very disappointed again. The hotel manager made a couple of calls to see if someone could take us on a private tour and he finally reached a driver in Plockton who would take us around Sky at a negotiated rate/hour, they take us to our new hotel for that night. He would also take us to our taxi the next morning for an early train.
While we were disappointed by the need to move, we felt that the management did the best that they could, especially since they basically 'saved the day' and we had a wonderful day on Skye.

We had a fantastic time. We were travelling to Skye and stopped for one night (wished we could had stayed for more).

Location, views, staff, rooms, bar - EVERYTHING EXCELLENT. The breakfast in the morning superb, and the view.....well come and see for yourself.

DON'T MISS IT :-)

Spent two nights here and can only say it was a delightful break. Lovely location with good hosts, good food and service.
A place where it's within easy reach to Skye and Plockton, two of the most beautiful location in Scotland.
Only slight downside is the control of the bedroom temperature during the night, which we found to extremely hot.
Overall a really good hotel and would recommended for a weekend break.

We have stayed in several hotels in this area and Tingle Creek is without a doubt the best so far. Lovely location with views of Skye and more, immaculate rooms and bathrooms, comfy beds, superb food, and lovely people. All in all we would be hard pushed to find a single fault with this place. The DBB price is worth every penny, great value, could have stayed for ages. We will definitely go back. Highly recommended.
