this is an old church next to a monastery that was turned into a hotel situated on top of a beautiful road overlooking the valley and the woods around. the view is really breathe taking and driving the narrow road towards it is spectacular. i did not stay in the hotel and just enjoyed the view.

Really great hotel in an excellent and beautiful location - good for walkers and hikers. Room rather noisy with old plumbing but the view more than made up for it. Staff great and very helpful. Quite remote and therefore very quiet and restful. Highly recommended for getting away from it all!

The Abbey is in a beautiful setting and it definitely felt like a privilege to be able to stay in the wonderful old building. The room was a little dark and the bathroom cramped, but then it can’t have been easy adapting the rooms to make a hotel. The grounds offer numerous places to sit and take in the views, and the old church is definitely work a look although you do have to pay a few euros to get in.

Breakfast is served in the courtyard and had a good mix of breads, cakes and pastries. There’s a restaurant on site that is run by different owners – it’s a bit pricey, but the food was excellent and worth the cost to not have to drive back down to the nearest little towns for dinner.

The hotel has guides for walks and cycle rides in the surrounding area, but we only stayed for one night and had come for the peace and quiet. Unfortunately, we arrived the day before a wedding and a few of the wedding guests were making a weekend of it; any hope of peace was ruined by children running and screaming everywhere at all hours and wedding furniture being brought in by staff first thing in the morning which they nosily put together just outside our door. It’s not the hotel’s fault that other guests did much to diminish our stay, of course, but it’s worth keeping in mind that the promised tranquillity just might not be there when you arrive.

This hotel is an idyllic place to rest and take in the amazing surrounds of Umbria. The room was excellent, the staff friendly and welcoming, the terrace one of the best places we've sat to have a drink in all of our travels. The attached restaurant was quiet (middle of the week) and the food was some of the best we ate in Italy. A truly memorable stay and for couples highly recommended.

Lovely peaceful spot. The Abbey is set among steep, heavily wooded hills hidden behind what looks like a very nice hotel. The basic structure is over 1000 years old. The frescoes are 12th century & remarkably lively. We didn't visit the hotel.
