“Enjoy a boat trip on the '1000 island lake of Shaanxi Province'”

Explore the a few of the many inlets of north-west China's largest artificial lake - the flooded middle reaches of the Han Jiang River. Fantastic views over wooded islands and the lakeshore. Relax for an hour or more on a 40 seat trip boat or try a smaller speedboat. All you need is your camera and a bottle of water. About an hour's drive from Ankang.

You would need to rent a boat to tour the islands around this lake. Met some other tourists there and we shared the cost of the boat rental. Turns out we managed to rent a bigger boat that could take more than 10 people for just the 6 of us! We paid 360 RMB for the boat ride. The boat would then ferry us across 4 different islands. Each island has a story based on Chinese mythology behind it so do spend some time reading the information board. We ended off with lunch on a fish farm. We could even select the fish we would like to eat and the farmer would catch it live in front of us! We spent 360 RMB for a sumptuous lunch of rice, fish, vegetables and meat. So our total expenditure at this place was 120 RMB each. Relaxing and beautiful scenery!
