What a great find.
Accommodation - Our room, while overlooking the street, had good soundproofing and we weren't disturbed by the traffic. it was comfortable and clean with quiet air conditioning. The hotel hires bicycles at reasonable rates.
Breakfast - We made sure we got down early to have breakfast outside. There was a nice spread of fruit cake, cereals and juices etc. Generous portions of meats and cheeses were available on request. The croissants were amazing.
Location - The hotel is a short stroll from the town square and surrounding streets loaded with restaurants, shops and galleries. There was a great buzz in the town on the Saturday night as it was a holiday weekend. Ugo tells us it is like that every night in high season. There's a local train station that gives you access to Cinque Terre and Lucca within 30mins. We didn't realise this before booking but the town is famous for it's art galleries and attracts a stylish crowd in the evenings. On every corner there are sculptures and it creates a welcoming open atmosphere.
Hosts - Ugo, Noemi and their team are lovely people - always wanting to hear about our daily adventures and giving good information where required. They genuinely care about providing a good service and that shines through.
