My boyfriend and I stayed here this past weekend, and loved it. The chalet is tucked in the mountains, and the room (which is a actually a suite with private bath and living room) was well-appointed and pleasant. John and Mary, the owners, were friendly and very helpful with suggesting hikes and other things to do in the area.

The most amazing part of the stay, however, were the breakfasts. Breakfast was brought to your room at any time you suggested, and you could request whatever you wanted. John and Mary's signature egg dish, a lobster omelet, was amazing. Everything was local and fresh -- they have a chicken coup on their property, and that's where the eggs for omelets, etc. come from, they make fresh jam, etc. Staying here was great, and worth it for the breakfasts alone!

The Welch Mountain Chalet Bed & Breakfast was the most amazing B&B we have ever stayed at. The “room” was a completely private suite (bedroom, full bath & living room) that was brand new. Everything was top of the line, meticulously clean, crisp & welcoming. The owners, Mary and John, were so warm, friendly and most accommodating. They served breakfasts’ that were just over the top phenomenal. Almost everything they made was home grown and made from scratch - from their chickens that laid the eggs for the omelets/pancakes, to the fresh fruit they grow to make the jams and muffins/pastries. The food was out of this world delicious, plentiful, and served with a European flare. Breakfast was even served in our suite at the times we requested. (No getting dressed and ready to eat food that has been sitting in warming trays for a couple of hours in a common room.) Every detail about this B & B was carefully thought out. We can not say enough about how pleased we were except to say that we are already planning our return in the Fall.

My husband was participating in the Waterville Valley Mini-Triathalon. We went on line and saw the Wlech Mountain Chalet Bed and Breakfast. When we arrived, we were welcomed by the owner who showed us around the accomodations and provided us with information on biking, hiking, canoeing, etc. etc. He was just great. The accomodations were very nice and the suite was larger than expected. Upon returning from dinner out, the hosts had a bonfire going and asked us to join them. We had a great chat. The next morning we enjoyed a superior breakfast. Everything was homemade, including the apple butter and strawberry preserves. We enjoyed it so much, we are looking forward to going back soon.

This was the perfect place to get away and unwind. There was tons to do from canoeing the beautiful rivers and lakes to hiking the Welch Dickie Trail right in the B&Bs backyard. There is also Waterville Valley Ski Resort with in a 5 minute drive that you can mountain bike in the summer time. After a long day of playing it was nice to know that there was a warm wood burning stove or a bonfire going back at the Chalet. In the morning the smell of the fresh baked goods would get you right out of bed.

We recently stayed at the Welch Mountain Chalet and had a wonderful time. The hosts were very friendly, and breakfast was delicious-even our two children who are picky eaters ate everything! The accommodations worked out perfectly for our family of four. We were able to snow shoe right from the property and the owner had a bonfire going upon our return-the kids loved that! We had a lovely weekend, I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away.
