We stayed here Jan 13 to 18. We had a wonderful little corner room hidden by foliage. The owners Simon and Ingrid were wonderful hosts. I booked our entire trip through Flying Banana tours which was set up by Simon. It was a great opportunity to see the real Costa Rica. The town of Brasilito is quite rustic compared to some of the more touristy beaches that have resorts but this hotel was an oasis to come back to. The beach is about a 10 min walk along the highway but very adventurous. We would go to the beach in the morning and come back at noon for a swim in the pool and sit in the shade of our porch before venturing off on an excursion in the afternoon. The bed was fine, a bit hard for me but sleeping was no problem after a full day. The papaya restaurant is more high end than some other restaurants. However after eating at another restaurant in town i realized their prices were not so bad and the food and service were exceptional. For the most part we tried to eat at the sodas where the food was cheap, good and cultural.
Our room was in a building that had iguanas living on the roof and they played hockey on the roof all night sounding like thunder. Interesting and exciting. Not enough to keep me awake.
I would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

The owners and staff really embrace you with warmth and kindness- very helpful with any needs- a very quaint feel. Loved it-Great location from brasilito beach and conchal beach.approx 5-10 min. walk if you use cut thru on opposite side of street where the red gate is-dirt path. We took the long walk which for us more enjoyable beautiful beach walk-great adventure-head right out of hotel until you come to small car bridge(not far)cross the small bridge head left on first side road immediately to your left(a few markets and shops -pick up drinks and munchies for beach-cheaper-we brought a small collapsible cooler and use often-proceed straight towards water go left once you hit the beach. That is brasilito beach- huge - however head all the way down to the left follow others....there is a cut in at the end which takes you to conchal beach just over the small hill -horses and atv as well as cars use this path.worth the walk!! There are food venders that cook chicken breast grilled -pork- fish(depending on the day)-ceviche- cold drinks, beer, pop & water- you can rent a tent with chairs & loungers for 20$ all day-you'll need the shade.....bring a good sunblock- I pre-tanned and used 50 block and it was like I used none- also a great place to watch the sunset- other water sport rentals jet ski banana boat para sail not over commercialized one of each....half of the beach is crushed shells further down is sand. The best of both worlds for activity or privacy can easily walk further down and find a private quiet spot on the beach......pure vida.....

We were in CR for a wedding that was taking place at Reserva Conchal. We didn't want to spend too much money so we didn't stay there or at the Westin. The Conchal Hotel was a 7 min taxi ride away and half the price so we opted to stay there in the Superior King room. First, I would spend the extra money to stay in one of the newer rooms. There was nothing Superior about our room. It was very clean, however. If you want the authentic CR experience then this room is for you. The walls and floor are concrete and the bathroom is nothing to be desired. That being said I still enjoyed my 4 day stay. The staff get 10 stars in my book. They are all great! The free breakfast was good. The food at Papaya was very good just expensive in comparison to the room cost but it was definitely worth the price. I would definitely stay here again but I will pay for the upgraded room.

Room tip: Choose one of the newer rooms!

Sorry you did not like the stucco and polished concrete effect. We were looking for a modern look for these new rooms, and we do receive may positive comments although I understand it might not be to everyone's liking. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for choosing our hotel.

Wonderful week at Hotel Conchal, Staff was very friendly and helpful helping us plan our week of activities which included a Sunset Catamaran Cruze, River Cruise including lunch at a ranch with exceptional home made food. Great Restaurants in the area including the Papya on site. Pool was very relaxing with beautiful landscaping all around. Beaches are a short walk and small town was very friendly to us everywhere we went! Highly Recommend this place to stay and eat at!
