“EXCELLENT VALUE AND LOCATION”
Reviewed 27 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

My partner and I stayed here for a week. The bungalow is clean and tidy, the oven and hob were spotless as were all the utensils and crockery.
The living and kitchen areas are spacious, with views of the sea and beach from the kitchen window and outside area where there is a table and chairs.
The location is excellent. The coastal path is at the bottom of the steps leading up to the property and there is a 30m path leading down to the beach just off the car parking area.
The town is a short walk away. We had two excellent well priced meals at the Basset Arms in the town.
The owners of the bungalow are nice and friendly and pleased to help you if you need it.
We would definitely book this bungalow next time we visit Cornwall.

“Not clean enough and too small”

First I would like to say that the manager of this property did find out who posted the 3* review and emailed them a very unprofessional email.
He was lucky the rest of my family let her be the one to make the review as she was extremely fair.
I on the other hand am not inclined now to keep quiet and will state in all honesty I thought the property was unclean. I found many hairs in the bathroom, dirt along the skirting boards and two long brown hairs in the kitchen. The light in the second bedroom did not work and we had to take a lightbulb from elseware to replace it. The top bunkbed kept falling in on top of my sister. The sofa bed in the living room when pulled out seemed to have the whole beach attached to it. The appliances in the kitchen were extremely outdated and not efficient. The blind in the kitchen does not go down- only at risk of it collapsing and the blind in the main bedroom would not roll down unless you held one side and pulled the other.also the shower leaked VERY badly whenever it was used. The owner met us there after it had apparently been cleaned and said he had given the place a check over, so why would we bother telling him about these problems? Obviously he knew about them all otherwise it was a pretty rubbish 'check over' he did.
Finally and most importantly of all you must be made aware that this property is NOT SUITABLE for 6 people. It is FAR TOO SMALL.
I am telling the whole truth with no exaggeration, Mr Smith don't bother finding out who I am to bully me in an email, I don't care. You should be more of a host and think about what Basic provisions would really make your guests have a lovely stay, not just about lining your pockets.
Yours sincerely

Management Response
24 Jul 2015
I am so sorry that the lady who wrote the second of the reviews was upset about what she had booked and her stay. If only she had spoken to us, as we always ask people to let us know if anything is wrong. All this could have been sorted out at the time. But I do apologize for any unhappiness experienced.
As to the faults mentioned of 2 hairs in the kitchen, a light bulb not working etc. I am very sorry. Everything has been put right including the shower door which was fine before their visit and ever since after repairing.
As to the matter of the size of the property. The size is mentioned in our advertising and website, and our larger property was available when they booked, but of course at a higher price and so the choice was in the holidaymakers hands. In fact a price of £495 in school half term for a week by the sea for 6 people is very very good. The property is 10 years old together with appliances which will be more recent. (New washing machine installed this week)
We are confident that this property is always cleaned to a high standard and has been enjoyed by every other person who has booked. We welcome reviews.

“Memorable Holiday - Great Location”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Just returned from a week at Gulls Cry Bungalow. The chalet style bungalow was clean, well equipped and had views down to the beach and across the cove. Access to the beach is seconds away and it's a quick walk behind the bungalow up to the cliff to catch beautiful sunsets. We found the location a good base for travelling to all parts of Cornwall too. The owners live nearby and were most welcoming and friendly. We can't wait to come again.
