We stayed in Campion for over a week (we extended our stay because it was so heavenly) and it was one of the best holidays we have ever had. Our 2 year old son loved every minute of it from playing for hours on the superb trampoline to watching the tractor make hay bales across the field. There was constant wildlife to watch from the spacious veranda and we already miss the comedy sound of the strutting peacocks from the farm park nearby.

The site is incredibly well situated. Not too far to drive to from London with a bored toddler in the car and a stones throw from a wonderful farm (including the biggest ball pool I’ve ever seen) and steam railway with lovely knowledgable drivers/conductors . Dinner at the Elliot Arms was delicious and plenty of great takeaway options in Launceston for the evenings we didn’t have time to light the barbecue or cook for ourselves. Under half an hour to fabulous beaches - we spent 2 days at Crackington Haven on Mike’s recommendation. It was beautiful and so perfect for rock pooling with 2 super cafes next to it. The Otter Sanctuary and mountain biking at Lanhydrock were other particular highlights.

In terms of the tent, it was fantastic. Spotless and well equipped. Super comfy beds and lovely bathroom. Kitchen well supplied and plenty of room for all the essentials in the fridge/freezer. Mike had even completely unpacked our online Tesco shop ready for our arrival along with a delicious cream tea.

We miss it so much, particularly those lazy evenings relaxing on the private veranda watching the sunset while the bats came out to feed. Truly wonderful holiday with warm thanks to Mike and Erika for their lovely hospitality.

We booked two of the three lodges for us and another family. Lodges were kitted out brilliantly, and the site was just perfect for the 4 children aged between 2-6. They could be free to play in the big field with us still being able to keep an eye on them whilst still giving them freedom that can be hard to give nowadays. We used the fire pit every night and new mills farm opposite was great. A beautiful place, we hope to be back

We would highly recommend staying at western meadows, we had such a fantastic time. Suitable for couples & families (& the dog). The safari tents are amazing, very spacious & well equipped, the luxurious side of camping. Fab views, with seats & a fire pit near the stream. Honesty shop with everything u may need, logs for the log burner & a big trampoline for the kids. The hosts were perfect, we couldn't ask for more, they really looked after us. A lovely couple. There's a great pub in the village, big portions of yummy food, which is definitely worth a visit. The safari tents are set in a beautiful ideal location, with lots of attractions to visit near by. We will definitely be visiting again as there's still lots more we'd like to see/visit. An unforgettable stay

We stayed in October half term with our 12 year old son. The tent was spotless and well equipped and the owners are very friendly. As we arrived our Tesco shop was being delivered and we had everything we needed and whilst unpacking the owners brought us home made scones, clotted cream and jam which was a lovely touch. We ate in all bar 1 night and cooking on the wood burner was very easy. Last night we ate at near by pub and the food was really good. In October it can be chilly but once you hunker down and get the wood burner going you are very toasty. Lots to do near by and we went out every day visiting local attractions and the beautiful beaches. We definitely recommend a stay here you won't be disappointed.
