The property is even more beautiful than described in the listing. The view from the house is amazing. You go to bed hearing the waves lashing against the shore and you wake up to the sun glistering on the water. The house was a home away from home. Everything you need to be comfortable. The manager Wilmer met me at the home, he recommended a chef, who made a delicious dinner for us on our first. The house is well kept. The pool was clean and maintained. Everyone enjoyed using the pool. We were 4 adults and we didn't feel cramped. The house is well designed with all the amenities that are needed to be comfortable. I will definitely recommended staying at Willoughby Height Villa.
The property manager Wilmer was excellent. He was very informative and helpful with all of our inquiries. Fanny and the cleaning staff were very thorough with their cleaning. The views from every room in the house were exceptional and the closets in each room were huge. The numerous seating areas on both the main floor and upper decks made outdoor living very comfortable.
Lovely villa in a quiet location. It faces away from the sun which means it stays cool in the heat of Antigua. One of the best villas (and kitted out kitchen!) we have ever stayed in.
We stayed here for two weeks and cannot fault the villa; very well appointed and plenty of space for everyone. There were only four of us but it was clear that a much larger group would be very comfortable too. Wil is the manager and extremely helpful; recommended a fishing trip charter just down the road in English Harbour and we had a great morning and caught several large fish.
Would definitely recommend a car and suggest getting one with good suspension as the roads in Antigua are quite interesting! Ignore any online maps that suggest it's only 20 minutes to St Johns for example; pretty much everywhere is a good 40 minute drive (apart from small local supermarkets and English Harbour). In our experience the best supermarket is Epicurean, of which there are two; one in Jolly Harbour and one (bigger) in St Johns. Locally the small ones have very limited meat (frozen, mostly) and vegetables/salad.
There are several good beaches on the road to Jolly Harbour from the villa, notably Turners Beach (good food too), Darkwood Beach and Castaway Beach (also seems to be called South Beach). The latter is probably best for families with smaller children as the water is shallower; also you have to pass the supermarket so can combine the two in one trip...
We would love to return one day and would thoroughly recommend Willoughby Heights to anyone who wants a relaxing and laid back holiday.
