Worst experience I've ever had with an airline. They declined me boarding once and I missed my flight, due to a misunderstanding & the flight was missed. The 2nd time they declined me boarding because my daughter was booked twice by virgin. Avoid
Wow, we haven't travelled with Virgin for a few years and had forgotten how good they were. Flying from Miami to Heathrow we were so impressed. The cabin crew were all friendly and helpful. There was a problem with our headphone socket not working so we were promptly moved to new seats. The cabin was light and airy, seats spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent, hot and tasty. Drink quality good and free flowing. We will definitely fly again with Virgin. Thank you.
If you book Upper Class via Virgin Atlantic's website and have to connect to another airline for your final destination, you do not have LHR Clubhouse access. This is an absurd policy. I went directly through VA's website and they put me onto an affiliate to my final destination. On top of that, the flight schedule changed so I now have a 6 hour layover in LHR instead of the original 2 hour layover with no access to the Clubhouse to relax comfortably.
I spent over 3 hours on hold for customer service across 3 different calls with no one answering the call(s). I tried to utilize their 'chat' feature and was on hold for an additional 45 mins. I finally emailed the CEO and got someone to call me back from the executive office and they were NO HELP AT ALL. They essentially shrugged their shoulders and told me to just go to the Revivals Lounge and get over it.
If I pay in excess of $12K for Upper Class seats, you'd think I would be able to fully enjoy the amenities that are supposed to come with the fare. The VA website is NOT clear at all about this policy. It only states "Customers flying in Upper Class" as having access, which we are.
We aren't going to drink and eat our way to $12k in the Clubhouse! We just wanted a comfortable place to spend an excessively long layover.
I'll never book a Virgin Atlantic flight again.
What more could we ask for that our favorite airline flies direct from Las Vegas to Manchester Airport UK. Everything always goes like clockwork from departing on time to great service, good food and drink. It was a well behaved group and we thanked the couple in front of us for not putting their seats back. The flight went quickly and the next thing we knew we had landed in (rainy old) England! The biggest disappointment was one of our two suitcases did not come out on the carousel. Curses! Global Services assisted those of us who had a case missing with filling out a form and we had to depart minus important items of course. The case was finally delivered to us THREE days later (that seems to be a rule of thumb?) but we had it back in our possession no less. I submitted for reimbursement of those items I needed to purchase replacing those that were in our wayward case (it went to London!) and I should have the money soon. Yes, it was frustrating and you just don't want that to happen but it had a happy ending.
