I have been a 100000 mile traveler on united for years. And, as such, I take advantage of their upgrades when offered. Unfortunately, on the first leg of this trip, (Washington Dulles nonstop to San Francisco), not only was I not upgraded (which is fine, I don't deserve it or anything) but I was not given my preassigned aisle seat in the exit row in economy plus. Instead, I was given a window seat way in the back. Not a problem, but disappointing

I fly all the time and I have made United Airlines my Airlines of choice. The Rewards program is probably the best out there with collaborative partners like Hertz and Marriott that allow you to earn miles. I also like the Chase credit card which automatically gives you status to board with group 2. Hit Platinum and you board with group 1. On this day my flight was easy and comfortable.

I bought first class and due to the weather had to spend an extra night in San Antonio. This I understand. They booked us on a flight out the next day on Economy. No refund, no I'm sorry, no offer of paying for hotel or meals. NOTHING. Plus, they had to fly me to Cleveland instead. Yes, I called 1-800 number, they could not help me. Yes, I filled out online forms- those take 10 days. Lesson: booking first class is not worth it. The same horrible treatment applies

The flight wasn't crowded which was a bonus. The staff was polite and they came by often to see if we needed anything. The TV's and outlets worked in our seats which doesn't always happen. Most of the times, the outlets don't work on United flights so I was happy to see they worked on this flight.
