“flight to cruise”
Review of United Airlines

Reviewed 12 December 2017

From the time we arrived the service was good, we checked our bags in at the counter and received our tickets threw a kiosk they have at the desk now. Only thing about that is that you have to use a credit card. The TSA check point went very fast no long waiting to get threw, did not have to take off shoes. Flight pretty much left on time. Only drawback on the plane is for tall people such as my husband who had just enough leg room. Im short so it was fine. Service was nice, we arrived early to our destination. Very polite crew members. Very quiet flight.

Flying United went well for us. Flights were on-time, uneventful, and the economy plus seats for 99 bucks more were absolutely worth it. Being able to pack two 50lb bags and take carry on's as well made it easier to bring back gifts for loved ones. Food and drinks were pretty good and we did not want for much during these flights.

First class on 373-900. If you want entertainment you must bring your own device and earphones. The aircraft has no screen and no facilities for entertainment but they do have wifi so you can connect your device to Netflix if you have downloaded their app. I guess they will do anything to save money. Next they will require customers to bring their own life vests on over water flights and their own oxygen supplies.

Expected the worst when booking a United trip to Hong Kong. It turned out to be better than expected. Smooth boarding process and efficient staff. Seat is average economy-class quality. Ordered Hindu meals and liked them, although portion is smaller than Cathay Pacific. Quite a lot of films to choose. Flight attendants also distributed water quite frequently. The only complaint is the not-so-friendly old bloke sitting next to me.

Flew a "dinner" flight, which departed at 6 pm. The only meal option many of us in first class were given was Mac'n'Cheese - which was appalling (see photo)!
