“Check in staff that really do not want to be there”
Review of TUI Airways (United Kingdom)

Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We have had a couple of instances where i have had to complain about TUI and especially TUI Airways at Manchester Airport. When we checked in in March the female member of staff made it quite clear that she did not want to there with her attitude and comment of "it would be better if I was at home" If this person does not want to be there then resign and let someone else have the job.

These planes are showing their age, outbound was nearly 19yrs old. Screws holding armrest cover where broken or missing on outbound flight and table support broken on return flight, making it awkward for having meal and putting coffee on. There is no form of entertainment on board. At some time, these aircraft would have had centre aisle TV's, but they have been removed. Make sure to take magazines as a 6+hour flight can be boring looking at the seat back in front of you. When the Boa Vista runway is upgraded, I believe TUI could use the dreamliner. My wife and myself enjoyed the inflight meal, service on board was good from both the cabin crew and flight deck information. Only a small delay on outbound(1hr),one engine required an airstart, otherwise everything was OK with the both flights.

Unfortunately no premium economy on this route so sat up front in extra leg room, nit wonderful but acceptable as crew good and attentive. Replacement Dreamliner on return so our front seat placed us in what would be premium economy so even though no added extras it was really comfortable. My husband has walking problems so we had assistance on and off the plane at both ends. The crew could not have been more helpful and attentive. Well done Tue.

We flew on TUI dreamliner and were very impressed. Comfortable seats with lots of room. Screens in the headrest infront to watch a good select of films/tv shows and also play games. Kept the kids amused which was what we wanted.
Crew were friendly and helpful, no complaints there. Didnt order any food so cant comment. Great start to our summer family holiday. Highly recommended

Flew 28/4 in Premium and it compared favourably to Virgin Premium in all but the in-flight entertainment. It was a bit lacking for a nearly 10hr flight and for that reason I can’t mark it 5.

Lounge access and fast-track security makes the experience that bit more special.

Meals were good standard and regular drinks service. Crew were efficient and friendly. Pilot (W.Smith) was informative and gave the most detailed pre-flight announcement, with good humour. Great moustache!

Would definitely fly again with TUI and I would highly recommend the comparatively modest cost of upgrading to Premium.
