The flight was delayed by 6 hours because we had to wait for the flight crew to drive down from NJ. That was not the problem. They kept us in the know the entire time. The problem is being nickled and dimed for every little thing only for the service to still below par. The upgraded (higher price seats) were not that much bigger nor had significantly more leg room. The high fee for bags is crazy especially since they have to weigh less than average bag weights with the other air lines. Not sure I will fly with them again.

I got to the airport, said i was “LATE” but i still had 30mins before flight. Its partly my fault, but they handled this incident is sooo poorly. They said right away, “you missed your flight you have to pay $99 rebooking fee and the next flight is 3pm (and my flight was 6:00am,imagine the wait) and theres only 1 seat available.” There is no refund of anykind. And the demeanor of the guy was rude. Its like “eehh” i really dont care. You have this feeling they dont really want to help you. I been travelling with different airlines no problem without any incident and i think there is no much care in this airline but just to get money from you. Im not kidding, its blatant they dont care. I felt robbed. STAY AWAY FROM SPIRIT AIRLINES. Trust me on this.

Ive taken spirit several times to fly non stop to Ft. Lauderdale each time there was some sort of problem. This last time it started right away at baggage the person behind counter -lets be honest ever single person that works for spirit does not give a bleep about their job or the passengers-barley acknowledged us. Flight was late then had to wait for a new crew the gate agent was an a bleep the "flight attendants" were surly and unhelpful to a staggering degree. The seats and leg room are horrendous as every one should know by now. As a person whos whole family was in the Airline industry have flown hundreds and thousands of miles foreign and domestic. I put this airline one step above a reginol airline I had to take in the Ivory coast many years ago where my seat mate was a goat that bleeped the entire way and when the plane landed it went in a ditch.....and still better then spirit. Im done with them rather pay an extra $50 to go on a better airline

Flight from Tampa to Chicago was not full, so very comfortable although very rough ride due to winter storm brewing below us. Layover was extended due to the storm holding up the incoming plane that was the connection to Los Angeles, but there was plenty to do in the concourse "L;" they ultimately changed our gate to one that required going down stairs outside and across an erected walkway to outdoor steps to the plane. After moments of freezing, this flight was smooth and seemed much quicker than getting to Chicago had been. Flights back to Tampa were full, but good and uneventful, with no additional times between flights other than a quick trip down the hall (Concourse L again) for a sandwich. Overall, I was very happy with my flights for their value.

The pre-flight is definitely NOT the fun part; this company fees you for absolutely everything except air...and I'm sure that's coming. HIDDEN fees for checking in at the airport along with the $30 and $20 charge for CARRY-ONs as well as check through PER LEG (not even your entire trip) turn a great price into the same as everyone else. Seats were comfortable and staff were fine so airline has potential if they'd just be HONEST with people and tell them how much a realistic ticket would cost.
