“Always fly this airline!”
Review of Southwest Airlines

Reviewed 24 February 2018

Nonstop flight - all seats are economy but cheaper and more comfortable than other airlines. The flight crew are always top notch - professional and friendly, not snooty like other airlines if you are not a frequent flyer. Snacks and water/coffee/sodas are always free and cocktails/wine/beer are only $5.

On our trip back from the mountain states, we ended up in Utah and needed a flight back to the east coast. We chose Southwest airlines to get us home. Although there were a few delays, the pilot picked up some of the time in the air and got us home quick !! One stop in Denver and then we ended up in Boston. Smooth and uneventful flight.

Took a 1 1/2 hour flight this morning from Dallas to St. Louis. Weather throughout the flight was rough and the turbulence was felt throughout the flight. Whether the call of the captain, the flight crew or the company’s policy, I was pleased to see that they cancelled beverage service for the safety of the flight attendants. Yes, I would have loved a cold drink and a snack, but there is no way the crew would have been able to walk the aisle carrying drinks without either spilling or losing balance. Haven’t seen this occur before but I feel it was the right call and noticed no pushback from those on the flight. Thank you!!

This is a no frills airline. Buy a ticket, pick any seat and it gets you from a to b. If your looking for food, blanket, pillow or head set forget it. This airline just gets you to your destination with friendly employees who always are always smiling. Some jets have wifi for a fee. They offer drinks and a package of pretzels or peanuts. The only issue with this airline is the policy on seating. Its like a cattle call. I personally like assigned seating. For boarding,Line up in a row predetermined by your time of check in. A,B,C and a numerical number. Sucks if your C boarding! You get whats left usually a middle seat. I must warn you for a steep up charge, you can purchase early boarding after wheelchairs and families with children. Southwest is not the cheapest airline anymore. Wish they would start assigning seats at time of ticket purchase. On the plus side, two free checked bags and no charge to change ticket! I suppose that is what gets me to fly them 99 percent of time. I suppose in the end it may be cheaper if you have bags to check.

Remember when flying was not a grind with crampted space and grouchy airline employees? Yeah, it really was that way once! I fly SWA frequetly and every time I do, it brings those old memories back to reality. Ticket counter staff to gate agents all see to it that you board your aircraft with a smile and once aboard, the flight crews pepper their professionalism with funny comments and many smiles. Sure, seat reservations would be nice but it would raise ticket prices considerably, so if boarding and picking a seat via a boarding pass is not for you, then dig out your wallet and be prepared to pay more to fly without getting the great service always waiting for you on Southwest. My motto is "If Southwest flies there....that's my choice".
