After my recent experience, I do not recommend purchasing seat upgrades on SAS. I paid extra to reserve exit row seats for my wife and I on our flight from TLL to CPH, last week. A day or two before departure SAS emailed me to say that they had reassigned us to different (non-exit row) seats and, while there wasn’t anything we could do about that, we might be entitled to a refund. Admittedly, the cost of the seats, $10 each, was low, but I thought that we should be refunded the cost. However, when I followed the link to the form to fill in to apply for the refund, I discovered that a cash refund would only be wired to my bank account, and not refunded to the card I had used to charge the purchase, and this required me to obtain the SWIFT number for my bank, among other things. A lot of trouble, besides sending information like account numbers that I would rather not share. So, I will just accept that I’m out $20.
