“GOOD BUDGET AIRLINE”
Review of Ryanair

Reviewed 22 January 2018

This was my first trip on Ryan air.Check in was fairly straight forward. They have a new rule that you can only bring a small personal bag that fits under the seat. You can bring a second cabin bag but with that rule is ; if you pay extra you can take that bag with you on the plane. The other option which is free is to have it put in the hold and then collect from baggage claims on arrival. There is no free food or drink on the flight so take your sandwiches with you.The staff were very friendly and helpful.

In March 2017 Ryanair changed a flight time of mine not once but twice and in an email stated "As your flight time change is over 2 hours you may cancel your flight and apply for a refund...." and then went on to say "Please note that Ryanair are not liable for any prepaid expenses directly or indirectly related to your booking as a result of this schedule change". The lesson for me was to pay a bit more and avoid the airline. This month I had to fly with them again due to being part of a group and after introducing the rule on January 15 2018 that only one small bag can be taken on the plane we followed Ryanair's rules and arrived with our carry on bags and expressed our desire for them to go in the hold. "OK" they said but you have to take them to the plane (even though we had liquids, toothpastes etc. in our luggage) only to be told at security to go back to the Ryanair check in as "We are sick of them sending passengers through when they should be taking the bags off them at check in because of the liquids". We returned to check in where we were told that if we wanted to put them in at check in this would cost £40 (not £35 as published). So the entire party had to ditch cosmetics, toothpaste etc., take the bags to the plane and leave them at the bottom of the steps on boarding the aircraft. There is a reason why Ryanair is cheap. As John Ruskin wrote "If you deal with the lowest bidder it is wise to add something for the risk you run. Then you will have been able to avoid something better". Sound advice. There is a good reason Ryanair are often the cheapest! Never again.

This has to be the worst ever airline I have ever flown. Upon arrival at Stansted we (party of 3) were greeted by an amazingly helpful Ryanair employee who helped us to the correct desk for check in, we successfully checked in and that is where the customer service ended.

We made our way to our gate and ]joined the line as our flight was due to leave soon. We were kept waiting for at least 30 minutes before an announcement was made stating there was a delay. The delay continued further 30 minutes with no response/communication from the Ryanair team.

We looked outside and saw that that an ambulance was present and later saw a passenger was being removed from the plane we were to board. This of course was not the fault of RyanAir, however we could see what was going on but not one Ryanair member communicated to us what was actually happening or how much longer we had to wait to board.

After waiting so long to board, it began to snow, we were then told that the flight would still proceed and that we were to board. We sat on that plane for close to SIX HOURS!!!! Not once during that time did the staff offer an explanation as to what was going on. Not once during that time did the staff offer the passengers a WATER bottled or not. BUT WHAT THEY DID DO was offer WATER and food for SALE!!! I was already disgusted beyond belief when the one flight attendant, taking orders, served the row in front of us, to the front left, behind left and behind right of us, she completely ignored us. The row to the left of us also noticed that we were completely ignored. She then came back to us with a smug smile and said "sorry we were busy" If it wasn't for me being abated by party I would have given her a nasty piece of mind.

Just because this is a budget airline, this does not give RYANAIR the right to treat their passengers without respect. Should Ryanair want to discuss or comment on this issue, please do not waste your time by sending correspondence stating " your are working on it the issue or we wish you a better trip next time", ayou might well want to keep your response to yourself. Just know I will be sure and happy to express my dissatisfaction on all social media site.

Please note if I could have used a negative rating less than "Terrible" I most certainly would have.

Truly Disgusted!

We booked our flights for December after Monarch went bust, they were reasonably priced we had one hold bag and as we booked priority boarding we were able to have 2 cabin bags which was ideal. We had no problems booking in or with boarding , our cabins were put in the hold free of charge. Plane was fine , staff good both going out and coming home. Would definately use them again.

For some unknown reason when checking into a Ryanair flight early, on-line we were allocated our seats separately at opposite ends of the plane even though there was plenty of seats together. When questioned a member of Ryanair staff at boarding we were told that it was due to the balance of the plane, however, had we of paid to sit together (option at checkin) this excuse would have been disregarded. upon entering the plane it became very apparent that there were numerous empty seats one of which was beside my partner, when I asked a member of the flight team to swap they refused. Absolute money making scheme, Ryanair just price the seats accordingly and stop trying to make people pay extra for evey little thing.
