Customer Review: Disappointing Experience at Vadodara Airport with Indigo
I recently traveled with a religious group via Indigo at Vadodara Airport, and our experience was marred by poor customer service. After checking in, we found ourselves 5kg overweight. I removed 1.5kg and transferred some light items to my hand luggage, which then weighed 7.2kg.
Unfortunately, the customer service manager, Sujata Thokkar, accused me of transferring weight to other members of my group without having weighed my original hand luggage. We did adjust our bags, but nothing excessive. By the time I got to the counter, the others had already gone through security.
Sujata reacted angrily and insisted her staff pull everyone's luggage, ignoring the explanations from both my group and her own colleagues. Her rude and unprofessional behavior created a tense scene that reflected poorly on both us and Indigo. Despite attempts to clarify the situation, she refused to acknowledge her miscalculations and escalated the situation further, threatening to weigh all our luggage.
Such behavior is not what one expects from a leader. Sujata could have handled this matter with professionalism and courtesy, allowing us to explain without raising her voice. This incident, combined with our flight being delayed by two hours, made for a very frustrating experience.
I hope Indigo can address these customer service issues to prevent similar situations in the future.
