In October my wife and I took our first flight on Finnair to Rome. Turned out to be an unbeatable experience in terms of cost, short layover and service.
On our return leg (as on our outbound leg) we had a connecting flight in Helsinki as did many other passengers and were greatly relieved when the Captain informed us that all our connecting flights would be waiting for us (there was a slight delay upon departure from Milan Malpensa Airport)!
We’re already looking forward to our next flight on Finnair to their other European destinations.

This is the second time we fly with Finnair to Asia and starting in Sweden this is the most efficient way to travel to Asia. Finnair has it's hub in Helsinki so you're travelling in the right direction from the start. Modern aircrafts (Airbus 350 XWB), great staff, food also surprisingly good. Seat comfort is good considering we travelled in economy. Check-in went smooth. The only minor downside was that it was a bit cold on the floor so bring socks.

Our experience was great from the moment we checked in. We had been given bad information on the phone regarding the number of luggage pieces we could carry for our infant. They understood and said they would waive the fee without us even having to explain and further. NO American airline would do that. Then, in flight hospitality was first class in economy. The flight attendant on our side was super nice and engaging and wanted to make sure we were comfortable with our infant.

price was ok, service was ok, efficient staff, quick boarding process, no extra pay for luggage, we arrived so late in the city there was no more public transportation and had to pay heavily for a taxi

My complaint is against the Business Class lounge at Helsinki T2. Admittedly it is under renovation but no excuse for (1) There is practically no seat/table when I arrive around 3pm; (2) Cheap paper and plastic utility used (3) There is no decent food avaiable. This is by far the worst airport lounge I have even used, and I am a OneWorld Emerald member. The flight is however basic and adequate. The rating applies to the lounge.
