Our trip from Perth wasn't too bad as the plane was half empty but coming back was a different story. On both legs the plane took off about an hour late. Abu Dhabi airport was a nightmare with no one to help us navigate. We landed in the middle of nowhere and were bussed with standing room only to and from the main airport( both ways). The security was very stringent which is understandable. The staff on the planes were very good but even on the so called Dreamliner we were still squashed in like sardines. The announcements in English were very hard to hear and the other announcements in different languages seemed to go on for ever and were continually interrupting programs.We both arrived home with swollen legs and they are still swollen two days later.
The toilets were terrible as the seat malfunctioned and they weren't particularly clean. There weren't many toilets between a plane full of people.There were a lot of screaming children on the plane also which did not help with trying to sleep.
All credit to the pilot for landing the plane in difficult windy conditions on arrival in Perth on the 16th October.

it was one of my best experience with Etihad Airways. I was travelling from Lahore to Dublin. i had a transferred flight from Abu Dhabi to London. I was transferred to A380-800 full double Decker, which i wanted to fly on. it's was an amazing journey.
I had the best experience of flying. Everything was perfect on that flight. their service,legroom,punctuality,food etc... A380's tv screen was larger than other planes comparing with economy class.
I wish to fly with Etihad again very soon.
I would recommend you to fly on Etihad Airways,if you want to get the best of flying experiences in the sky.

We booked a business class fare for a holiday to Italy via Abu Dhabi - part of the package is that Etihad is to provide a chauffeur service to pickup to an from airports.
This was shambolic throughout our trip - they used the wrong contact phone numbers, did not arrive at the correct times & were not on time for a single leg of our journey.
When we found out that they were coming some 5 hours later than we booked for our last leg - they did nothing to help and left us stranded without any place to stay in Dubai for 5 hours.
All we got was buck passing & refusing to take any responsibility for the wrong time or for not using the correct phone number to contact us on to confirm the booking time.
No thought for the customer - no care or concern - no assistance whatsoever.
I will never travel with Etihad again and advise everyone to be wary of them/ they charge a premium price but provide no service!

Well things have got worse --this morning we completed our second trip with this airline and nothing has changed! --the food is disgusting, the drink service is poor (plastic glass with no ice or lemon for a G & T) but the biggest problem is trans-sitting Abu Dhabi where on this trip we spent in excess of 1 hour going through transit security checks of which there are two --why two? On the second security check we had a case taken off us that we had carried all the way from Dublin with our duty free items in it --apparently the airline's home base won't allow that but from Dublin it is alright --I hate inconsistencies. Last trip they said they would contact me --same this morning --suspect like on the first trip it won't happen. When an airline gets a rating from a rating agency the rating agency needs to be specific ! I now understand this airline's rating is based on first class travel not cattle class

We regret the food on board was not as you expected. For certain flights there are several security checks, as they are required by the country you will be visiting. With regards to the duty free items and the extra security checks, this will depend on the regulations of the country you are visiting, and on the airport, customs and immigration procedures.

The choice to fly with Etihad was the worst decision ever made! I traveled with my husband from Bucharest to Incheon with two stopovers. The initial tickets had a return flight through Belgrade, and due to the fact that there was a flight schedule we were informed that our flights had changed: I had to leave one day later and my husband a day earlier! All this change had no resolve: we could get the money back less a fee that was about 20% of the ticket price, plus to buy other tickets we had to pay almost twice as much as we were initially charged for the tickets. I spent hours on the phone in the call-center and ... the calls were surcharges!!! After all, we agreed that we would stay in Seoul for another night (but the accommodation was on our money!!! because Etihad does not assume anything). All these things do not get when you go with an European company!!! From Bucharest to Athens, I flew with Aegean company (who acted exemplary and I recommended), but from Athens to Abu Dhabi I started the flight with Etihad - terrible! Every flight of them starts with a prayer in Arabic (which gives you a thrill in the back) and the food is terrible: you are served 2-3 hours after takeoff, you get an almost cruel chickpeas (from which I had a terrible pain stomach), a main course that is a porridge with vague traces of vegetables and meat (I could say: it's vomit), and the dessert is made of boiled rice with sweetness. The whole combination produces a terrible stomach pain! Whatever you want to drink is poured from a bottle in half a glass (European companies get the juice in the metal dose, the wine in the bottle of 187 ml, etc...). Even if the flight takes 9-10 hours, if you are asking for a glass of juice or a glass of wine, the stewardes will answer you in a rude tone: now we only serve water or coffee and tea (even if you are not above the Arabian Peninsula) !!! These are the friendliest opinions about flying with Etihad. And for the experience to be unpleasant to the end, on the return flight we were unable to check in until Bucharest, even if we tried online at the airport in Seoul and Abu Dhabi. This was due to Etihad because they booked our return flight to Athens (even if we paid for Bucharest). We were lucky with the Aegean company who did the best thing to find us two places for a flight to Bucharest. If you are a European (or else beside Arab) and read this review: Please avoid the Etihad Airlines!!! I will never fly with them again and I always make possitive reviews on TripsAdvisor.
