Check in was fast and easy. The crew were friendly and efficient. Their English was not too bad. Overall I would recommend China Southern. Most of the in flight entertainment was in Chinese but that is understandable since we were in China.

Really what can I say. The flight and cabin crew were outstanding and were exemplary in customer service. Couldn't fault anything.
China Southern , do something with your home port lounge.
Very small and appeared crowded. Food was great but bar service very poor.
When the bar was manned the staff appeared to be out of their depth. They need some product training. The bar was left unmanned for very long periods and a lot of customers commented this.
Ran out of chardonnay about 9pm with a flight departing at 0040hrs. This lounge is kept spotless so cleaning crew well done.
This is not a great look for an airline wanting to achieve so much.

if I could give a zero for China southern I would! China southern is partner's with DELTA that's why we chose to fly with them. My husband and I were flying business class on an international flight. Our bags were checked all the way through. On the way out of the country all of our bags got left in NYC. Delta was of zero help with the situation. Our entire trip had to be rescheduled including other flights that we had booked. You would think with the amount of money spent flying business class your luggage would also be priority. Not the case! When our bags went through Guangzhou of course they were opened and searched which is fine. BUT THEY STOLE ITEMS! They took a steri pen(led light pen used to sterilize water), a power bank, camera battery, and other batteries. They did not contact us and ask if we would like our items mailed to us. They put a piece of paper in the luggage that said why it was searched and what they took. China was not our final destination so we unfortunately couldn't do anything about it. Our entire trip had to be modified and ultimately cut short because of the baggage problem. We flew back to U.S. business class. AGAIN OUR BAGS WERE LOST! When they got to NYC they cut off our locks, which are TSA locks, and searched our things. Our bags were then fedexed to our home. This was by far the worst trip and flights we have ever had! We will never fly china southern again! Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Don’t expect too much when flying China Southern, the plans are old, the food is terrible and most of the crew (air and ground) doesn’t speak any English. With that said everyone tried their best to be nice and to made sure we were as comfortable as possible.

If you’re flying in economy, take the day flight – sleeping in China Southern Economy class is very hard. And if you’re flying from China home, make sure you bring your own food.

It was super cold inside the plane, so wear a sweater!
