we did 4 flights with Austrian airlines to get to minsk and back from heathrow with connections in vienna. tbh I had concerns due to reading some poor reviews and also because one connection gave us only 35 minutes. We had two minor flight delays (one of 10 mins and the other 45 minutes). The seats were only thinly cushioned and everything was stripped to the basic - this was ok for the short distances but did mean that one had a bit more space (apart from our last flight in which the seating was close. in air wifi was available on most but was not that good. staff were friendly and provided a drink or two and a simple snack - this included the choice of a chocolate bar or an apple. Both were nice. The simplicity of this enabled staff to do the rounds quickly and without fuss - something british airways lost when they started selling stuff. in summary we got cheap flights and we made all connections and so did our luggage. it was basic and had delays but that can happen to the best of them. Not that happy that our seats were changed without telling us but I will use them again.

This was our second trip with Austrian Air, the first trip in business class, this recent one flying economy. The plane was very clean, seemed fairly new offering spacious seats and a pleasant staff. I would not spring to upgrade next time, the economy was great. Bathrooms were typically tight - but clean and in working order for both flights. I can’t comment on food as we slept pretty much of the time flying over and returning to JFK.

First time with Austrian on a short international flight to Berlin. Small hickup at the electronic checkin- wouldn't print the boarding cards. Off to checkin counter were we received fantastic and friendly service from staff who assisted us.
We had a slight delay due to late arriving aircraft but nothing to inconvenient for us anyway (midday flight). Picked up a little time on route.
On board service was fine for such a short haul with a drink and an apple or chocolate thrown in.
Berlin side was also fine.
Austrian got us to our destination SAFELY, pretty much on time with luggage and a smile, just as we would expect and hope for.
(Lots of other flights had much greater delays due to weather issues)
Very happy with service provided and would use again.

If you buy a ticket, first be aware that you might need to pay for the first bag on either way.
In the USA they started measuring the cabin bags even though it is against DOT to do so on flights originating from within USA.
They threaten passengers whose carry on luggage exceeds 8kg to be entered into system and be charged $100 next time.
Avoid Austrian or Lufthansa (their five companies)at all costs as they all will do it to you.
Imagine having fragile items in a carry on that end up with tons of other checked luggage!!!

Worse experience ever. Very rude staff looking to charge you for extra kilos. This policy looks like having extra profits and bonus for the ground stewardesses. They don’t care if you are silver or gold status they only care about profits from the extra bonuses. Terrible worse star alliance company ever
