Where do I start, my husband, myself, 2 daughters and our 18 yr old granddaughter flew out on Sunday even 8th Sept 24 Irish time. The excitement was palpable, as it was our eldest daughter's 50th birthday next day and she hasn't been back since Sept 2000. Everything was fine even including my trip in a wheelchair assistant trip no problems. Whoever Aer Lingus uses as their food guru needs to be removed forthwith. Ok as we were travelling economy, arm room is minimal. 1 daughter and our granddaughter eat gluten free food and booked for the 48 hrs required. Our daughter l got the food and I use the word food loosely but not our grand daughter The staff said they didn't order it within the time frame which was untrue as they had received an email to confirm it. So our Gdaughter got nothing to eat except a juice. Later on they acknowledged it was their fault and brought her bun she couldn't eat. But the funny thing was, we were in the centre 37th row and a young man, well over 6 and half ft about 350 lbs sat in the 1st seat of centre row 36 and then moved into next seat. He took over 3 seats to hold him and proceeds to push his seat back on my husband. I asked the staff to get him to move forward when the food came but said we will get our colleague to do it and I said we have asked them already. He got 2 portions of everything and eventually a senior member physically moved him forward herself, what was that about. Getting back to the food which is a disgrace and puke especially today on the overnight flight to Dublin. Who wants dinner God help us if that's their idea of dinner. We were better getting crackers and different cheeses and a bag of tayto crisps and a decent tea and coffee. So much packaging to get through, it's not funny and again only 1 gluten free meal. They are been ordered but been given out to someone else. I wonder the captain who was flying the plane today and was the spokesperson for his members during the recent dispute, got the same puke food I would say not. We recognised his name, as oaps we are tuned in. To add insult to injury I booked a wheelchair assistantance from the plane due to knee replacement last year and a hip next month but no one there. Plenty of men standing there as we came off the flight with hi vi's 👋 jackets but no chair and I walked with my crutch through checkout out across to get the 109A bus to Kells. Sorry Aer Lingus CEO and staff you are failing the people who are keeping you in work. The old saying " be nice to people on your way up as you will meet them on your way down" the people in the business area will be looked after but if anything happens , they go down with us in economy. British Airways for me long haul and Ryanair short. I know it is pointless of me writing a review as nothing will change, we in economy are of no importance to the powers that be, but if they were dependent on business only, how would it last. Its such a pity Captain, you should fight for your customers as well, because without us, you would be flying the plane for an Arab Prince or larry goodman and at their beck and call. If this review makes others rethink booking Aer lingus and giving an honest review, so be it, not bashing an airline for the sake of it, a keyboard warrior. Slán
