There is no other way to flight to Athens directly from Kavala as this is the only operating airline connecting Megas Alexandros Kavala airport with El. Venizelos international airport of Athens. The flight schedule is formed by the specific airline. Usually there is only one flight daily and the hours don't make any sense. Alternatively you may have to drive to Thessaloniki or Alexandroupoli airports to catch a flight. But it is a 2 hour drive. Also the tickets prices are usually expensive. The flight takes 50 minutes to land in Athens. The serve coffee and other non alcoholic beverages. The flight attendants are polite and welcoming. The aircraft is small and non comfy at all. The luggage room is small too.

Good priced economy class but high priced luggage extras. Lazy boarding, lack of information and delayed arrival, totally without any caring. Thus you will be forced to use high priced taxis on the island.

Online booking allows you to pay for your bag AND pay for extra legroom. For an extra $10 I was seated in an Exit Row all by myself, while others were seated in middle seats. Of course that didn't help with the 5 hour layover in ATH. BORING
5* for the legroom upgrade, 3* for 5 hr layover = 4*

First I took a flight from Athens to Santorini. The plane was very small and there was not enough space for my backpack.
On the flight back it was a bigger plane and it was more comfortable.

Boarded and departed on time. Flight was safe. Attendants were okay, if a bit brusque. They probably get sick of the run. It is a short flight (55 min) so they serve a beverage, and about 45 seconds later they want your trash, so few people were ready. The luggage at arrival was delayed at least 30 minute for no discernible reason. The flight was cheap, so I didn't expect much.
