We took the Epic on a repositioning cruise from Florida to Rome, sailing on April 7, 2024. Dissatisfied! The WiFi is advertised on the “Freestyle Daily” as “..available bow to stern”. We were in cabin 9090 and couldn’t get WiFi inside the cabin. Of course, to discover this fault took three trips in line totaling about two hours. We were told to leave our cabin door open!! Yikes! Wasted $500.00 plus dollars. Also, the lines to get anything were horrible. Even boarding was about an hour and half. We missed our first port of call for the UK Rock of Gibraltar due to engine problems. Instead, a poor tour in Spain before Rome.

I would not recommend Norwegion cruise lines to any of my family or friends. They provide poor service, poor information. Regularly cancel excursions without reason or apologies. We were left abandoned at the port when they cancelled our excursion which was supposed to drop us at the airport. We were then stuck sorting our own transport of luggage and ourselves from Rome to the airport at over 120 euro cost. The ship is old and very run down with cabins in a poor condition. Too many passengers, not enough facilities. Pools were either cloudy and too hot or near freezing temperature at around 4 or 5 degrees C. Showers leak, sinks don't drain, toilets flush if you're lucky. There is no customer care from the cruise line or their support staff. Food is poor and aimed more at Americans than anyone else. So, unless you want to become one of the obese looking to become diabetic? I would suggest you consider other cruise lines like Caribean or Cunnard. All in all Norwegion Cruise Lines provide a very poor service despite being expensive. We have been left feeling like they took our money and ran.

Dear Cruise Critic I’d like you to write on your paper about my latest issue. I was looking at cruises leaving from Rome in early October and I was contacted by Norwegian Line about a cruise line to save funds I decided since this was the same cruise-line my agent was suggesting because of times but I had to pay $A 150 per person for them to book however we didn’t have prices from travel agent just a suggestion, so since we are naturally watching funds which at present everything is far more expensive than ever before and last year as well. So I booked the cruise Friday with Norwegian Lines my travel agent came to me today Monday same cruise everything exactly the same Balcony etc. at a price that is $1,000 p.p ie $A2,000.00 difference I looked at cancellation policy from Norwegian lines and it is 75% of cost even though its 2 days since booking with them. So we are paying for exactly the same cruise an additional Aust$2,000.00 which we can least afford, we are going away since last year my husband was very ill we are both elderly and to find that we have been scammed $A2,000.00 by Norwegian Line is not only upsetting but disgusting that they could do this to us. We will never use an American Line such as Norwegian again and we will make sure that everyone beware of the disgusting tactics they are using. My husband is over 80 years is this what we can expect from using their website? If you could kindly alert other unsuspecting customers we would appreciate it, something should be done about their deceptive behaviour $A2,000,00 to us is exhorbitant. Yours sincerely Michelle

Over crowded, some staff were very rude or very false!! Queues, queues and more queues. Waiting, waiting and more waiting for very little entertainment, lifts and tender boats. (30 minute wait to be served at any of the bars due to them being under staffed all the time) Dirty pools. Clothes ruined from whatever was thrown out of ship chimneys (oil, fumes, smoke) Never no sun loungers. Very noisy, busy ship. Cabin layout offers no privacy for showering or using the toilet. Balcony was filthy. Money making company with a “shut up put up” attitude towards passengers. If you want to relax and experience a little bit of quality (seen as your paying for it) then do not book this ship. Huge disappointment and I consider myself to be very easily pleased but not on this ship!! NB book your transfer when leaving the ship as NCL throw you off by 10am and there’s over 4000 passengers trying to get from ship to onward travel…..it’s like a cattle market and we ended up paying €700 plus tip for taxi trip to our hotel which was 20 mins up the road (ripped off) our holiday cost for cruise & beverage packages cost over £10k (excluding excursions) I would have had a better holiday experience at Butlins than I did on this ship……NEVER AGAIN will I cruise with NCL or any ship with such a large capacity. Your just a number and a another individual that they try to get as much money out of you as possible once on board….. nothing is included and everything has an additional price!

This ship is so unbelievably crowded. There are 3 very small pools for the entire ship. They get so crowded I was kicked several times. They are so crowded that the water gets dirty about an hour after they open. There are no chairs available on the ship unless you race up and put your stuff on them first thing in the morning. Forget trying to find shade. Or a quieter spot. There is an entire floor of casinos. You have to walk through them repeatedly to get to the restaurants. So hundreds of casino seats, but no available seats on the deck or anywhere outside. This ship is terrible.

Just returned from a 10 day cruise on the epic for my first time on the ship. After reading the reviews I was a bit worried having booked the cruise without much research however i found most of the reviews nonsense. There were 4000 passengers on the ship so the cruise cant be perfect but we found almost everything on the ship to be excellent from the food entertainment and service from the staff and all the other services provided. We werent involved in any extra long lines for any services and plenty of elevators available.I would have no hesitation in booking another cruise on this extremely enjoyable ship.
