I had such a disappointing experience with Volotea that I felt compelled to share. I bought my ticket about a month in advance, expecting a smooth and well-organized trip. However, the reality was far from that.
When I tried to check-in online, I found that it was no longer possible. Assuming I could get it done at the airport, I arrived two hours before my flight to check in at the reception desk. To my surprise, I was told that the flight was fully booked and I couldn't get a boarding pass. The staff were unable to provide a clear explanation as to why this was the case or confirm whether I could board the plane.
I was told to wait until the end of the boarding process, leaving me in limbo for an extended period. Finally, I was informed that 12 passengers had been canceled, which allowed me to board. While I was relieved to eventually get on the flight, the entire ordeal was unnecessarily stressful and poorly managed.
Overbooking flights is an inherently inefficient and unfair practice that shows a disregard for customers' time and peace of mind and this experience makes me hesitant to trust Volotea again. I strongly urge the airline to address these issues and prioritize customer satisfaction over profits. Thank you.
