VOLOTEA
Volotea Lyon Athens 29/11/24 fl. 2018. The Delay of the departure until this hour (20:21h) is 2h 45 min!! NO PREVIOUS NOTICE TO OUR EMAIL OR TEL.!! A humiliating long waiting queue to give us a coupon of 5€ for lunch !!! The available food in the only open bar «221.bar», is potato chips, muffins, cookies, coffee, etc. No sandwiches or any other snacks. The epitome of Volotea's contempt for its passengers.

No frills, no fuss airline. More importantly, on time
Joined ‘Megavolotea’ which allows me to take on extra baggage, without the over inflated prices of other airlines.

I'm regularly taking flights offered by the Volotea company, and they always arrive on time or even slightly earlier. The cruise crew is welcoming and kind, especially with kids.

I booked a flight from Verona to Catania on the 21/11/25 departing at 18:45 for me and my dad. I tried doing the online check-in everyday for 3 days before my flight but I always got an error message. I searched on the company's website on what to do in this case, and I found on article saying to go to the airport check-in area and the Volotea customer service will help to provide me the check-in without any additional cost.
I went to the check-in area of Verona airport on the 21/11/25 and I explained my situation to the employee working at the desk. I showed her a screenshot of the error when I tried to do do the online check-in, I also showed her the website link about doing the check-in at the airport but she said ''that link is not valid''. I had to pay 60 EUR to get my check-in.
The following day I emailed Volotea and I attached the screenshot of the check-in error, and the website article saying that I could do the check-in at the airport in case of error during the process. They replied that I should have emailed the company before the flight, and that they could not refund the 60 EUR.
I will not trust this company in the future as I had to deal with a uncaring employee at the airport, and the email I received back from Volotea ignored my request despite their misleading information.
