Hi Aeolis :)
Thanks for sharing! But why only one photo? Care to show us more? ;)
Agrrr! Don’t even get me started!! LeeAnne and I are currently fighting for more attention from TA to Ukraine listings, in particular in terms of adding new destinations properly:
Totally fruitlessly so far..
I don’t know what is needed to make a destination honoured by TA as to deserve its own forum, «things to do» pages, hotel pages etc..
So I’d suggest you to better place them under Crimea pages so far.. Unless you are ready to submit some hotels, restaurants and things to see in Kerch to be listed on TA. My mere guess is the more content for the destination is submitted, the more chances for it to avoid being lost on TA and to get «full recognition»..
Loved fake US dollars on the panel. Are these for distracting the impulsive thieves, I wonder? :)
Each driver has his own decorations, as I'm sure you know. On our return last evening, there was a member of the Militia/Police sitting up front with the driver. There were only 8 people on the bus, and the driver had the best music I've ever heard in Ukraine. I wish I had his playlist.
I want to make the trip to Feodosya. This would be my first time to the area and to Ukraine. This is one of those find my fathers birthplace trips, so there will be a lot of crying involved. I have been to other countiries in Europe and to Poland as one of my eastern european stops. Nothing scares my like going to the Ukraine. I need loads of advice and how to get to Feodosya and where to stay and what to watch out for.
Hi Ekom and welcome to Ukraine forum :) Nothing to be scared of - we don't bite! ;)
>>> how to get to Feodosya
Lots of ways, depending on your budget and preferences.
There are direct flights from NYC to Kyiv, and lots of connecting flights.
Train time-table is available here http://uz.gov.ua/en/
Bus time-table (indicative) is available here bus.com.ua but you will need to google-translate it.
Note that all time-tables change seasonally, so if your trip is no soon, you’ll have to double-check it closer to your arrival.
>>> where to stay
Some Feodosia hotels are listed here on TA and even have reviews. You can find them here:
You can find even more hotels on the local web-sites, for example:
Note that google translate often translates UAH (hryvnia) as USD, so the prices on local web-sites are actually in UAH, NOT USD.

I encourage you to read through this forum. Loads of info gathered here will give you a better idea of what travelling to Ukraine is like. Please, pay attention to the upper right corner of Ukraine forum page where the frequently asked questions are gathered tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g294473-i3662-Ukra… In particular, you might find these helpful:
Real travellers’ Trip reports tripadvisor.com/…28348864 (the newer come last).

Language matters with the links to the posts with some useful phrases tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g294473-i3662-k504… For Feodosia, learn basic Russian phrases rather than Ukrainian.
There are also lots of tips around the forum on various money issues (use of credit cards, money exchange etc). Please, use the search tool to find them.
If it doesn’t matter for you when exactly to travel, try to avoid summer school holidays (June – August). Feodosia is a very popular family holiday resort and gets crowded in summer, with prices going up.
Hope Aeolis who seems to be a frequent visitor to Feodosia now would provide more tips and insight on this trip ;)Edited: 19 March 2012, 19:35
