transportation?

Hello all,

We are working on planning a trip to Villa Cerro Castillo, but are having trouble working out the best way to get there. Is there a bus from Coyhaique? Also, are there ANY maps available of the hiking trails in Reserva National Cerro Castillo? I've found one on http://www.summitpost.org/cordillera-castillo/312608

but it is incomplete. Also the Conaf website was not helpful.

Our hope was to hike through the reserve, spend the night in Villa Cerro Castillo, then find transportation to Puerto Rio Tranquilo to continue our journey.

Any advice?

Busses Coyhaique Cochrane pass both Cerro Castillo and Rio Tranquillo. Minibusses to Puerto Ibanez will drop you at the start point of the Cerro Castillo trek.

You pay see some sketch maps of this trek in Coyhaique, otherwise it is described with a small map in the LP trekking guidebook.

Hi there!

How did you eventually manage your trip to (and from) the National Park?

I'm having trouble finding some sort of a bus schedule Coyhaique - VCC - Coyhaique.

Many thanks in advance!
